AI on Device User Reviews

I love you dev

It’s amazing. It allows you to choose from a huge selection of models and many of these programs do but this one offers some that you wouldn’t see other apps. It has the ability to do search the Internet and communicate with you like a proper assistant and do deep searches. It allows you to connect to a computer that does the processing of more content. So you could use a program like tailscale to give you an IP address for free and then connect to your home computer for a custom database.

Crashes

After opening and typing my question and pressing enter, it keeps crashing on me

Good, but it could be improved

I think it is a great interface for open source models, however, I would prefer I nicer graphic, the possibility to import models that you have downloaded earlier, in addition the web search feature doesn’t always work and it is slow (For instance if I ask: who is Elon Musk, after a minute I will have the answer, but this depends by type of the query, because if the subject of the search is, let’s say Giorgia Meloni, maybe someone who is also well-known on the web, but anyway less globally compared to Elon Musk in that case the search will not be successful, furthermore even though many offline models such as Qwen 2.5 or Llama support Italian language, it seems from at least my experience that search won’t occur and consequently won’t produce a suitable response as it should be). Moreover I found was a bit uncomfortable and not intuitive check the version number of the app in App Store just for figure out whatever I was running the patched version (the 1.8.0) without the crashes, so as a suggestion I would propose to put the version number in the app, in addition when I’m solving a math or physics problems I would like that the formulas and calculations to be displayed in the transformed LaTex format directly in the interface without the necessary of copying and pasting the steps made in a Latex editor, just as ChatGPT does when you ask it to solve a question related to a STEM subject . Overall I like this app, and I’m also glad that the developer listened to me and replied regarding that annoying bug which implied countless app crashes.I hope for updates regarding the web search feature, the graphical interface and the possibility to import previously downloaded models.(Maybe for improving efficiency in web searches give the user the ability specifically for this kind of task to decreasing the context window as web searches in many use cases should produce a short but concise response)

Thank you for using the app and for sharing your detailed feedback! We genuinely appreciate your insights. Improving functionality has been our top priority, but I completely agree that enhancing the graphics is important, and I plan to update this to have a more appealing user experience. Regarding the web search feature, I acknowledge the speed limitations. Since everything runs directly on the device, there are constraints like the lack of shared caching, but I’m actively exploring ways to optimize and speed up this feature. As for the crash message, this issue was most prevalent in version 1.8.0. The latest updates should provide a much more stable experience. If you’re still encountering this issue, please ensure you’re running the newest version, and let us know if the problem persists. Thank you again for your patience and support as we work to improve the app!

Best local AI on iPhone

I honestly can’t fathom how this app is free. It’s like stumbling upon a treasure chest in a sea of paid apps that don’t even offer a fraction of these features. The fact that you can run AI models locally, with this much precision and functionality, is mind-blowing. Meanwhile, so many “premium” apps charge a hefty price for far less.

Now, about the negative reviews—let’s address the elephant in the room. If your 6GB iPhone can’t handle an 8B model, that’s not the app’s fault; it’s basic tech knowledge. Calling the app a “scam” because of hardware limitations is akin to blaming a sports car for not fitting in a bicycle lane. Let’s be real: you wouldn’t try to cram a piano into a shoebox, so why attempt to run a high-performance model on a device not equipped for it?

This app is a gem, and any criticism rooted in misunderstanding is just noise. It’s evident that the developers behind this masterpiece know their stuff, and the fact that it’s accessible to everyone at no cost deserves applause. If you’re into cutting-edge AI and have the right hardware, this app is a game-changer. Don’t sleep on it!

the best Local AI software

Good support without bugs, fast update speed, and complete functionality. I noticed that this software is made by Chinese people. They are not used to making mobile software pay, but to be honest, it is reasonable to charge a little for this software.

Perfect (had to reinstall though)

App is amazing especially now that you can try to link it with your Mac (trying to do that it might be glitched but I don’t know if it’s meant to use the Mac app or ollama or LM studio or any of those)

Issues with M4 IPad Pro

I think it is great interface for open source models, however, I would prefer I nicer graphic, the possibility to import models that you have downloaded, moreover the web search feature doesn’t always work and it is not fast compared to what I expected , ultimately every time I open the app it says: “The App may crash, the model setting has been reset to default” with a progress bar and consequently crashing. This is an IPad Pro M4, so this fact is not acceptable for 7b models with a context window of 2000 tokens when with other solutions I can use effortlessly 8b models with a context window of 4096 tokens. I hope that what I reported here will be quickly resolved properly.

So cool!

The interface is clean and easy to use. I really like the web search functionality but wish that it was possible to specify a search engine like DuckDuckGo. It would be great if one could download custom models as well including multi-modal or vision models.

Edit: There’s a new version 1.8.1 that fix the crash issue. Please update and try again. I apologize for the inconvenience. By the way, the Mac version is still in Apple’s review process.

Exciting update!

Edit: I was excited to try the Qwq model on my iPhone 13 mini, however the app repeatedly crashes on startup. Reinstalling doesn’t help.
