This is a fun app, however, some improvements would put it over the top! First, it would be nice if you could see the actual location name of the map to identify location location of those questions we got wrong.
Also a brief pop up option with more information about the historical event would be awesome.
5 stars for their city geo app, 3 stars for this version, because this one has permissions to track your data, and I don’t like that. Their city app currently says no data collected. The game play is simple and fun, whoever- guess and place a flag, if it correct/ very near, a green flag will be placed to show you got it right; if you are wrong you can keep trying or even view a hint and then try again. Fun, no ads. (Am referring to the lifetime version).
I downloaded History Geo Guesser and its sister app City Geo Guesser and found them both to be somewhat addictive. I have absolutely no idea what the rules are—or even if any rules exist. You are given an historical event (say, the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215) and a blank world map and your task is to plant a flag near the location in which it occurred. I don’t know how close to the actual site the flag must land to be regarded as a correct guess, but there seems to be a reasonable margin for error. That’s it. The game is strangely satisfying if you’re correct and annoying when you’re not.
I came across an incorrect answer and emailed the developer who immediately responded by acknowledging the error and correcting it.
The title says it all.
It’s a simple game but fun for history buffs.
