Paid to get rid if ads yet ads still play consistently

Tried playing the game and watched 5 ads before ever getting into the game. Then decided to pay the $4.99 to get rid of ads. Yet Im still getting an unreal amount of ads and have yet to even get into the game. Feels like a scam
