Just use ChatGPT, it’s better and you’ll save hundreds of dollars
What an awful experience it has been in the last year trying this app. It was insanely expensive when I initially signed up (cheaper now) and hardly worked.
For many weeks and nearly months at times, the tech just didn’t work. I tried to use it on my phone before the app existed and I couldn’t log into the website or I would just be prompted that it currently wasn’t functioning. Next time I’ll just go to my ATM, withdraw a few hundred bucks and light it on fire.
When the app was launched I was excited just to see functionality. But that was only an appearance. Because so many months I was locked out of conversations with responses like “I can’t give an opinion on that” and so on. Just going by normal, casual conversations I easily have with ChatGPT. And then I realized, why not just use ChatGPT instead? It can hold substantive conversations and I love that with ChatGPT I don’t need to push that pesky “send” button. I can just enjoy a conversation in Spanish while commuting to work - and never have to interface with the app throughout.
Teacher AI usually (emphasis here, USUALLY) has more native sounding accents than chatGPT does. But it’s so buggy that you often never know what to expect.
The straw that broke the camel’s back here was the lack of notice that my membership was closed to expiration. Imagine a service that did nothing for you suddenly showing up at your door with their hand out saying “pay me.” I just logged in, got prompted to renew my membership and, well, no thanks.
