Paranormal Files: Sacrifice to Shadows by Lyxnminx
I always liked this series, but this game fell way short of the mark. Although Rick finally returned, his acerbic wit and sense of humor did not. It seems as though Elephant is a totally different developer than they used to be, and the changes are not for the better. The storyline was banal (stealing souls? Don’t we see that enough from Domini? Elephant used to be quite creative!) The game was a mess. Firstly, the gameplay interface did not fill the entire screen of my tablet. Dialogue ran off the page. The graphics were extremely dark and lacked visual acuity, so it was extremely difficult to acquire collectibles. The strategy guide showed the collectibles out of turn, so it was useless. They should be in order by which scene is unlocked first, then second, and so on and so forth, not jumbled together. Touchscreen sensitivity issues made it impossible to manipulate all of the mini-games, so I had to skip a couple. Then there was the map. Don’t put exclamation points on a location if there’s NO available action! An objective doesn’t count. It makes for too much running around, looking for something to accomplish. In addition, the marks were so tiny you could barely see them anyway on the teleport map. Most of the mini-games were boring and rotational. I am also sick of HO scenes consisting of runes, which were also extremely difficult to see. I never play with hints and this game was so glitchy that I had to use them. Also, in an HO scene, you should be able to enlarge the scene, but Elephant took that feature away from us, making it way harder to search. For what we are paying for a very short game, we should have as many bells and whistles as possible! The only thing that kept this from being a one star game was the interesting use of inventory and generally addictive gameplay. I used to love your games, but this was a mess from a quality assurance standpoint, as well as being very hard on the eyes. So my review will remain at two stars. If you don’t fix your problems, you will continue to lose both players and revenue. I would suggest you take my advice!Show lesslynx minx
Needs something….
I have all the Paranormal Files games — even The Tall Man, which after it got fixed is not a bad game to play. This one just lacks the old Rick Rogers spark — maybe it’s too soon after he was rescued, maybe you just didn’t have a great idea, maybe it’s just a lazy way to make money. But I know from the other 10 games in this title that you can and have done better. This game felt very perfunctory, moving from one idea to the next without a whole lot to make it the as charming, interesting and fun as the other games in this title. Please give the next one more consideration and time so that we can all enjoy what made this title so special to begin with.Show lessgin-soaked-barroom-queen

I actually liked this game. The story was a little corny but I enjoyed it. And the mini games weren’t too difficult. I like a game that is interesting and relaxing. Dameon’s voice though was so annoying to listen too. It was really awful. Other than the terrible voiceovers , my rating will stay 4 starsShow lessBec73456

I have to be honest here. I used to say that all your games were my favorite. Since the upgraded to this new design I have to say I’m not a fan of any of it. For one it’s way to small to see anything on IOS and the scenes are so unreal the people move differently then the past games the voices don’t match like they used too. The story line is so far fetched it’s ridiculous. I don’t know what kind of audience your trying to obtain but I’m sorry this is my last game with you all. Before changing to this design you were my favorite HOG to play. The changing design and the plot of all these games being put out are not fun anymore. Sorry but you’ve lost me.Show lessStar Gazed

Your games keep getting less and less challenging. The story is okay, but the mini games or “puzzles” are so easy and short. Click a few buttons and your done. You can’t even call most of them puzzles. There is nothing to solve. And the “bonus game” is always just the same setting reused and this time it was the same setting and story reused. I used to love your games. I have purchased every single game you have released on IOS. But I think this is my last.Show lessB1210659
