I think personally there should be at least a 24 hour trial period, before a financial commitment at $ 4.99 weekly.
You even get to test drive a car before you buy it.. just saying I have paid for apps upfront in the past to only be dissatisfied. However a trial free apps at least 24 hrs at least gave me the ability to know if I liked the app.
However, if I did enjoy the app, I have gladly paid for the cost of it.
If this app is that good then you might want to consider that it would attract more customers..
