  • Outstanding Application. Highest Recommendation

I love this app. Purchased Lifetime subscription. Took me a while to realize the banks and A-B-C per patch power. But once you start using all this app has to offer, you won't need much else.

    My only wishes would be:
    1. Adding a Delay and, most importantly,
    2. Allow saving config files to iCloud so that all my iOS devices can use the same configuration. Otherwise, I have to recreate the wheel on every device.

And if the app doesn't sound good, it's because you have a poor capture.

Best Regards and Best Wishes Devs!
  • Oh no ! Another subscription model

I downloaded the app believing I would be able to at least try it out, only to find out that it is yet another subscription model product. Suddenly the fashion is that you have to suscribe to able to use apps, and when you cancel you are left with nothing . I guess the Economic World Forum is brainwashing even musicians and programmers : “ You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy”
  • So portable

Need a delay option on screen
  • Impressive interface & high quality models!

Nice implementation. Has a few interface/UX quirks that are mostly ignorable.

Thanks for the review. We will keep improving GigFast.

Updated review (in response to developer’s response):

This appears to be a solid implementation of the open source NAM (neural amp modeler) by Steve Ack. It sounds excellent in my opinion from my time spent with it during the trial period and well of course it does because it is the same NAM we all known and love at its core. 🔥🔥🔥

The included parametric models all feel realistic and responsive and having an adjustable gain is a delight (those of us that have been using frozen, non-parametric NAM models to date will understand what I mean). Of note, however, there is no Mesa Recto, Diesel VH, 5150, Fryette Ultralead, or other modern top-shelf high gain amp included, sadly (and no, the SLO100 isn’t really a ‘modern top-shelf high gain amp’ to anyone who understands heavy tones). The SLO100 will get you most of the way there for now though. I guess? 🥺😢

⚠️ Things to be aware of:

    1. You cannot load you own models into this Lite version. Or at least I wasn’t able to via the iPhone file loader window within macOS Finder and I did not find any helpful resources indicating how to get this working at the time of this review. Where can we find the steps to do this? What resources are available? 🦮📚

    2. If you plan to use this as a preamp stand-in for a gig, or live practice, be forewarned that it’s 1+ millisecond latency means that adding any more than, say, one all-digital OUTBOARD effect to your signal path (Digitech Whammy, Digitech Drop, for example) will quickly compound latencies and become unplayable. Nothing new here as that is the nature of digital, however using this app as a preamp instead of an analog preamp further compounds latencies and that is my caution to you. 🔜🔊

    3. Any alarms or sound notifications on your device will interrupt audio output which would be pretty embarrassing if you forget to diligently disable them all before rocking out. Imagine getting a call from your mom or an alarm for your meds mid-show! Yay! Hahaha 🤣

Thanks for the review. You can load your own NAM models , no restrictions. Future updates with additional functionality amps and effects are going to be free. Finally saying that adding an effect will make it unplayeble due to latency is not right people using GigFast with full chain of effects inside their preffered DAWS or plugin hosts.

    2. At $39 this is expensive for a non-full featured version of something that is completely free and open source on other platforms with all features and functionality. I will concede that the interface is very good.

    3. It remains to be seen what the non-“lite” version will include and whether additional payment will be required to use that feature set, which let’s face it would be an infuriating money-grab.

    4. If you plan to use this as a preamp stand in for a gig, be forewarned that it’s 1+ millisecond latency means that adding any digital effects to the signal path will quickly make it unplayable. Also, any alarms or sound notifications will interrupt your playing which would be pretty embarrassing if you forget to disable them all first.
