iSPEX Water

iSPEX water is a companion app for the iSPEX 2 smartphone spectropolarimeter, designed to facilitate the collection of accurate and standardized water color measurements for research purposes.  The app's intuitive interface allows users to easily capture high-resolution water reflectance spectra using their smartphone camera and the iSPEX 2 add-on. Once the data is collected, the app processes the spectra on a secure backend server, applying calibration coefficients and performing necessary calculations to derive accurate radiance and irradiance values. The generated data files are optimized for seamless integration with common remote sensing and GIS software packages, making it easier for researchers to analyze and utilize the collected data. One of the key features of iSPEX water is its offline functionality, which enables users to collect data in remote locations without an internet connection.  The app automatically uploads and syncs the collected data with a cloud database when a connection becomes available, ensuring that no data is lost and facilitating collaboration among researchers worldwide.
