Promising, but not serviceable

I really like the functionality offered by having app access to CSFloat however I encounter errors trying to browse for items almost every time I use the app. If the app can fetch items then it will be convenient but until then it is not very functional

Best way to trade

Using the app will be 100% the best way to trade moving forward on csfloat. With web, you had to go through mobile auth for trades, so it was sorta clunky. With the app, it’s all on your phone so sending a trade and confirming is a much faster and seamless experience.

There are a couple of issues right now with the app that hold it back from a full 5 stars.

First, none of the recent sales are showing on any item. Second, searching the database doesn’t work. And last, it feels like the app requires you to sign in again via steam too frequently (every 2-3 days).

If these three issues get fixed, it’ll be an easy 5 stars and my main way to use csfloat moving forward.

App requires certain security measures to be disabled before trading

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy CSFloat; it’s my go-to marketplace for CS2 items. That said, the desktop version is the only one worth using for actual reading purposes, especially as a seller.

The biggest reason why the app is essentially worthless for traders with any liquid items is because you can’t send trades using it if you have Family View enabled on Steam. I utilize this feature because it requires a four-digit PIN to access important things, such as my inventory. It is one more layer of security against scammers, hackers, and phishers. And yet, CSFloat’s app requires that I have this feature disabled if I want to send a trade. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to lower my account’s level of security for a mobile app when the desktop website works flawlessly and safely. That alone was enough to make me uninstall.

Also, you have to input your login credentials for Steam directly into the app, which is something I avoid like the plague. On desktop, you can sign-in to the steamcommunity website, then easily sign-in to marketplaces like Float with one press of a button. This ensures that your credentials are only ever input into Steam’s official website. For those who don’t know, it is common for scam sites to request all of your login credentials, and the steamcommunity method protects against this. I’m not indicating that this is a scam, far from it, but in a community so diluted with bad actors, it’s not something I’m going to chance.

I appreciate the work the CSFloat devs have done and will continue to support them and use their website on desktop, but these glaring security concerns make it impossible for me to recommend the app to any serious traders.

Very buggy

Can’t deposit via the app, watchlist emails don’t take you to the actual item, it just opens the app and takes you to the homepage, same if you click on a direct item link. App is super buggy, swiping out of menus sometimes freezes the entire app, selecting filters/sticker names sometimes freezes the entire app needing to force close, app often signs you out (usually when you need it most, like quickly sniping an item before someone else buys it), I just stick to using the browser on my phone the app is just super buggy which is a shame because if they had a robust feature set like buff did they would take over the market

FloatDB Doesn’t work when looking at items on market

While looking at items on the market there’s a button under the product your looking at to take you to the Data base to see where it’s ranked but it doesn’t work so you have to go to the FloatDB and type the item in again and look for it yourself, very frustrating.

I’m sorry for my review but there’s just a lot of quality of life updates that could make this app amazing, the website version is so good so I’m hoping oneday this app will turn out like that I used float everyday and I really do love this app it’s just not quite there yet thank you for making it and I hope it will surprise me in the future! Good work! 😊

Very very rough

They just copy pasted the mobile webpage UI into an app that is somehow buggier than using the aforementioned mobile web page. Feels like a high school student’s final project honestly

HUGE

CSFloat is really upping their game. Best NA marketplace, no question.

Nice

Its nice to be able to accept trades from phone. With new updates i think the app will be great.
