It works and values privacy, but the price..
Many other pantry apps out there track user data. Some track a lot of data, others collect a little data that is not linked to user identity, and then others like this app collect no user data at all. I personally value the apps that don’t track user identity. Collecting user data seems harmless or even helpful at first. However anyone who has paid attention to companies like Google, Facebook, etc should know that user data is valuable and should not be trusted to organizations that you don’t trust.
Lastly, I haven’t fully explored how far this app’s free service can be used. But, there are constant pop-ups to subscribe. The suggested prices are way too high for what this app offers.
There is no offer to permanently purchase this apps full services. The subscription cost is $20/year. This seems a bit much for an expiration date tracker. The app calls itself Mr.Fridge but I can’t actually use this app to check the stock of my fridge or pantry, only the upcoming expiration dates of items. Even if it could do that, I can’t see the justification for a yearly subscription for any service like this. Only a one-time payment seems appropriate.
