Truly excellent app. i'm so excited. i've been waiting for something like this since the app store opened. It's rare to come across an app that has accurate pronunciation of the single letter sounds or treats more than a few of the not insignificant range of 2 and 3 letter sounds as anything other than individual letters, add to that a list of common sound units as found here and you have a fantastic tool. I must say it's great to get something with a research base from a speech and language backgroud that has true functionality across a range of contexts - individual to whole class, personal independence to instructional. looking forward to anything else this team might release down the track!
I've watched a 5 yo suddenly realise, with the aid of this app, that this reading stuff has a system. It is so inspiring to see that revelation occur. With struggling yr 4 students ive used this app to bring blends into spelling. so, where students were spelling trap as tap or chap they now have the 2 consonants. Kids can use it independently to support spelling and reading. The list goes on. Thanks
