Compete for zones with friends and strangers in real life! In TURF there are thousands of ZONES spread out in cities and villages around the world. You compete for these zones against others in order to play the game. By walking/running/biking to a zone and standing within its boundaries for a short while, you will TAKE the zone from the previous owner and claim ownership. This action will turn the zone green and provide you with income in the form of points. On the in-game map you are not only able to see zones and zone details. You can also watch your competitors move around LIVE, making a strategy possible. You can choose to be INVISIBLE, but while taking a zone you must be visible to others. Owning more zones will provide you with a higher income, while losing a zone to a competitor will reduce your income. There are three levels of top-lists (region/country/world) where you can see your current ranking. The game is played in ROUNDS. Every round is one month long and ends on a sunday close to the start of a new month. At the end of a round, every zone is reset and points collected are zeroed in order to allow for a new start. Rewards are given to the best players, which are kept forever. The game also includes events, medals, rankings and lots of statistical data to measure your performance and keep track of your adventures. Start turfing, move those legs and let the adrenaline flow! Disclaimer: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. GPS background usage is however only activated in case you actively choose so in settings inside Turf.
