  • Drains battery unnecessarily

I suspect this app drains the battery unnecessarily compared to other streaming audio apps.

Also, the host pictures are awful. They look were clearly done as cheaply as possible. The Photoshopping is amateur-level, and the pictures haven’t been updated in years. Photoshop is supposed to make people look better, not worse.

The segment titles are frequently wrong. It will say “Dallas Stars vs. Team X” a week after that game was played. They should just give up on segment titles. The segment titles frequently have too much text to be properly displayed anyway.

  • Love the accessibility improvements

I am a long time P-1 now living in Austin. I have listened to The Ticket through the app for many years. I am also blind and a VoiceOver user on my iPhone. Thank you very much for the accessibility improvements in the latest update. Before, many of the buttons in the now-playing screen were not labeled properly and there was no way for me to close that screen except by closing and re-opening the app. I also appreciate the other improvements to the main app screen, since it takes half the number of swipes for me to navigate the Dallas Morning News sports headlines. I'm not sure how many other people with disabilities who use accessibility features contacted you, but coming from a dedicated Ticket listener, I'd like to express my appreciation for these updates. Please let me know if I can help in any way to make the app more usable by the blind. Thanks for your time.

  • Great App - need to add Apple Watch App

I really enjoy the app but I would like to be able to listen to using my Apple Watch when I’m out for a bike ride or a run. Are there any plans to add an app for Apple Watch?
  • Poorly written, invasive app

I got this app to listen to the Ticket while driving. 2 problems with it:

    1. I used the app sporadically over the course of the week. This app somehow consumed over 7 GB of data from streaming 2-3 hours of audio. So now my data has been completely used for the month and I don’t get internet. What in the world was this app doing in the background to consume 7 GB of data?

    2. When I listen to the app via Bluetooth in my car, when I turn my car on the app automatically opens and starts playing audio and using data! Even if the sports day app is completely closed out. And when I turn my car off the audio continues playing on the speaker on my phone. The only work around I’ve found is to uninstall the app and re-download it when I want to listen to the ticket again.

Stealing people’s data like this is terrible, if that isn’t a violation of Apple’s Terms of Service it should be.

The way the developers configured the app to secretly open in the background and auto play is incredibly annoying and unethical.

  • Please fix bug where app pauses

When functioning correctly, the app continues to stream audio when you navigate to another app or your phone locks. For weeks, since fall of 2020, it intermittently pauses audio when doing those things. Now, 2021, it does this 95% of the time. If I swipe away & restart about 20 times it might work.
  • Watch app?

I love the app and use it all the time. Sometimes it might act buggy but usually closing down the app and restarting it gets it back on track. I am wondering, is there an Apple Watch version of the app coming out anytime soon? When jogging or biking I listen to music but sometimes would like to listen to the ticket while exercising.

  • Faded Glory

Both the Ticket and the DMN are shells of their former selves, and the app is a prime example. It crashes constantly and in all the years it’s been out not once have they ever updated the drops. DMN has almost no content now, so little you can almost see through it. The Ticket without Mike Rhyner feels like a bunch of snot nosed kids snuck in and took over the station...the spiritual leader is gone, as am I.

  • The Best

The Ticket is the best! And this is a great way to listen to things you might have missed during a meeting or a phone call.
  • OK...

I’m running iOS 13.x on an iPhone 11 Pro. App is okay for streaming the Ticket but isn’t polished and kinda buggy. The UI isn’t real good. An extra step or even two to start the stream. For me the play and rev/fwd buttons are shoved too far to the bottom. When you pause from outside the app and try to resume, it takes at least two attempts and even then sometimes doesn’t work. That’s been going on for multiple versions. When it does happen, I have to go into the app and about 20% of the time end up getting an error on resuming; I have to reboot the app. I would only recommend if you don’t have a 3rd party streaming app that you like.

  • Must-have app for Ticket P1s

Great way to listen to the little Ticket. I live in DFW and almost exclusively use this app instead of the radio dial.

Only bad thing : reading DMN articles is impossible due to small text size, at least with my old eyes.

Also needs an Apple Watch app so I can leave the phone in the house while mowing on Saturdays and still hear the latest e-break from the Teebox.
