PennyDell is my Ole Reliable
I can always could on ole PennyDell to come through when it comes to both app and paper. The app functions just as it should with solid content. Now I have about fourteen paper issues of PennyDell scattered throughout my home, and various places that I tend to be for. The app has been a life-saver when I have found myself without one of my many copies stashed somewhere. As for the app, it is a necessity if you are one that enjoys solid crossword puzzles without the froufrou that accompanies many of the new puzzle games in Apple’s Arcade. Further, ore, I have not had any issues that cannot be overcome without restarting the app, and there are bound to be some hiccups given it being an application. Overall, the PennyDell app by PuzzleNation is as solid as it gets.Show lessThe ads!!!
I love this game but the ads have gotten horrible lately. They get stuck and I need to close the app and start over then the ads come again. I expect ads and the game has always had one before it starts but now it’s horrible. PLEASE FIX THIS!
The ads were working fine for a while but now they are horrible again - not all of them. It seems to occur with the ads for the word game. You can’t get out of them. They never show up completely then if you touch the screen the screen for purchasing the game appears. If you close that, the screen is black. If you touch that screen, the screen for purchasing comes back up, and on and on!Show lessstill my daily crossword after 6 years
I paid to hide ads ages ago, and am happy I did-- it's cheaper than buying a physical book of crosswords, and I get my daily fix! It's very nice to be able to toggle the errors and smart step. All that's missing is allowing the screen to rotate -- I don't even need it horizontal as much as I need it upside down so I can more comfortably play while charging, or tilt to pass play with someone across the table from me. Another suggestion would be enabling input with my bluetooth keyboard rather than the in-app onscreen keyboard. Neither of these are dealbreakers, just thoughts on how to make a great app even better.Show less
