So buggy, poor UI, but accepted at my kid’s school

I hate this app so much. We’ve been using it for over 2 years because it’s easier then sending cash in for their account. Barely easier. The system is down almost every first time I try to add money. The system is so bad, I don’t trust it to auto load. The user interface is not intuitive in any way. When you click on your child, the only option is to unenroll. I know this, and I still click on it at least every third time because it’s the biggest thing on the screen to click. The only positive of this app is that my kids school accepts it so I can load money (eventually) onto their school lunch accounts.

Worst app

I have nothing but issues all the dang time. First my biometric login doesn’t work, then my password doesn’t work. I go to reset it and sends a one time passcode. Never get the passcode through text. Do it a second time through email, finally get the email, plug in the passcode and it loads and loads and loads. I exit and go back in select already have passcode and finally get to reset page, enter new passcode per guidelines, get an error message. I close out of app, go back in and same thing. I delete app and download again, same message. I even tried to create a new account with new email and got an error message. This is the most ridiculous thing. My kids needs her lunch account filled this app makes it impossible

Glitchy as #%^

This app is full of glitches and has not worked right for years.
There is no option to transfer money from your checking account, so you are forced to pay fees for debit/credit purchases (as if parents don’t have enough to deal with in this economy). What are the fees going towards anyway? It is certainly not going towards improving the app, so I guess it’s going in someone’s pocket.
I was unable to load a parking pass so I contacted support and they told me to go to the website (not the app) to complete the purchase. Then they told me to uninstall and reinstall the app and they assured me that it would work correctly. Guess what? It doesn’t. I’ve already done that many times.
The notifications within the app never go away even after you delete them over and over.
If you have 2 users on the same account, one will always have issues logging on.
The app lags consistently. Half of the items won’t load correctly.
After I purchased another parking pass and off campus ID, it took weeks before the order was completed. The parking permit finally went through but the campus ID still hasn’t cleared.

I am just thankful that this is the last year that I have to deal with this garbage app. I feel sorry for the parents that have to deal with this for many years to come.

Please, for the love of God, fix this horrible app.

Endless fees

Perhaps my complaint should be more with my local school district in Clever, MO opting out of doing a part of what the school staff is paid to do and has been doing until recently - HANDLING SCHOOL LUNCH AND OTHER FEES IN HOUSE. But complaints to the crappy district have already been made. HOWEVER, as other parents have noted in several reviews, the GREED of the company behind this app is unbelievable. “Processing fees” all over the place, need to add cash for school lunches? PROCESSING FEE. Need to pay for your child to use a nigh-useless and outdated Chromebook at their school (a Chromebook which has been paid for BY TAX PAYERS ALREADY)? PROCESSING FEE. Incredible. Processing fees for everyone! The fees themselves don’t hurt me financially, but in a country suffering economically and with food prices skyrocketing and inflation still incredibly high, the schools partner with this developer to CHARGE PARENTS MORE?? What about parents with limited income? Or single parent households?? There isn’t even a “fee-free” direct-from-bank method option! The “processing fee” should (and normally does, with honest developers and honest people) refer to a CREDIT CARD processing fee - not a parent trying to use their routing number to pay for their children’s food for school! The partnering schools? Abhorrently lazy and inept. The heads behind this app? SHAMEFUL AND DISGUSTING.

Convenient but buggy

This app is used in connection with our children’s school life, so while I appreciate the convenience at the tip of our fingers, it’s a different kind of frustration when the app is prone to glitches and problems with data input and messaging.
One strange thing I’ve noticed since I downloaded and registered, there is seven messages that span almost 10 years in my message box but I just signed up for this app this year. And I delete them every time I open the app and every time I close the app and reopen it, they’re back again with a notification of new messages.

Lots of issues

The app won't allow me to modify my payment accounts. I logged in to the web version and added my new payment accounts. I returned to the app and was happy to see the new payment accounts reflected in the app as payment options. However once I selected the new payment account, the app would not allow me to process the payment. All buttons greyed out and not selectable. I felt very frustrated. I had to return to web version to make a payment to add money to our lunch account. Please fix these bugs.

App Slow if it Works at All

I am constantly frustrated by using this app. At best it's slow. Most of the time it's barely functional. It will even crash if ads are blocked on your network, leading me to have to disable WiFi in order to remotely use it.

Adding and removing students can take minutes while it sits there and clocks. Adding funds is frustratingly slow and inconsistent. If it wasn't for the fact that our school system's usage of MySchoolBucks makes the school bookkeeper's (spouse) lives easier, I'd vote with my feet and choose not to use MySchoolBucks at all.

Terrible app

This thing does not work. I have tried multiple times to add an e check to my payment method and it won’t let me submit. I have verified the information is correct. I had it independently verified. It let me add a credit card once only to find out the processing fee is the price of a meal. I find it unbelievable that in 2024 it should be this difficult to offer a way for parents to put money on an account for their kids to eat without having to send them in with cash. It is appalling to me the app wants you to pay for this extremely subpar service. The designers should be ashamed of their product. I am.

Platform consistently glitchy

PLEASE fix the issues with this app. 9 out of 10 times I open to make school lunch payments there is an issue where the app glitches and freezes, or denies payment, or doesn’t allow new payment method to be added, or sends confirmation of payment completion, but funds don’t show in the account.
Today I have tried THREE times to enter new payment method information, and all three times the app glitches out to where I cannot finalize the entry. Everyone is busy… please address these issues so that the app can be used in an efficient manner.

MSB

I love having the ability to pay at any point in time but! If you don’t do things the first time it will glitch. Let’s say I look at invoices, then check my email to confirm what weeks I’m paying. When I return to the app it glitches out. This is within seconds. Also, they only add invoice number when a payment is made. They do not keep the dates of service on there. You will need to take a screenshot of invoice and then of payment for proof. Keep in up with the invoice number is a headache especially if you have multiple children and are paying for different services.
