This app is a good idea but there are still the unchecked issues that just rolled over to a new app. The first big issue is the fact that VIA will add rides during your ride because, of course, it’s a ride share, but they will not do drop offs based on the order the riders were picked up. There have been a number of times I have scheduled a ride at least an hour before I was supposed to be at my destination and I still run late because via will add a million pickups during my ride and put them all before my drop off. I understand that it goes based on the map but There have been many times I’ve been stuck in the van, passing my stop multiple times over just to pick up new riders and drop them off first. Like if you’re going to have a pickup scheduled, at least allow the riders who were already on to get off first at their drop offs after the added pick up. It shouldn’t take 45min to an hour to get just 13 minutes from my destination. To add insult to injury, now they travel to some spots in midtown. Instead of having specific set drivers that do the trek back and forth to midtown they have every driver doing it so it adds even more time to your ride for west sac users. I’m not saying that it can’t be beneficial for everyone who uses it but at the same time the lack of adaptations and adjustments after adding more locations is just making it more inconsistent for the original targeted consumer. I also want to add that as of late there has been many times where there are absolutely no rides available for longer than 35minutes and customer service just wouldn’t pick up. It’s hard to find a solution when no one is available to help get one.
There should be separate vans for those who stay out in downtown area to come to West Sacramento. The same van situation Just inconveniences those who live in west sac and use the app for west sac.
Overall this app has potential but still needs to hit the issues that just rolled over to the new app.
