UI consistency

Keep UI consistent across apps. Shapes has the hint button big and in the middle but the original app has the restart level button in the middle. I know it’s a minor detail but as someone who plays probably too much it’s just something I immediately noticed.

I understand hint button being bigger to draw more people to watch ads for free hints but I personally prefer it small and off to the side because I don’t like using hints.

Overall, cool innovative concept to keep the game fresh.

More fun

I wondered if Big Duck Games would release more DLC or do a new game. I got my answer.
Flow Free: Shapes is the same fun from the others with a new twist. I can’t wait to solve all the puzzles. Only Warps has me beat currently.
The $4.99 to unlock everything currently and remove was an obvious purchase.

So Happy!

I’ve loved all the Flow Free games, especially hexes, so the fact that this one adds simulated 3D planes and fun designs such as Celtic Knots is AWESOME! You’re going to have your standard “pay to have no ads” pack, but they usually also include several more levels, and the ad amount for the free version isn’t an overwhelming amount!

New content in the series, not sure if it works.

I have been playing the flow free series of games for a decade now. OG, bridges, and hexes are great. Warps can be a slog, but still good. Shapes is ambitious and trippy. The primary game mechanic is smooth and intuitive as in the others. The additional pack/ad free purchase is great value as always. But everything else is weird. The first weekly pack called “bricks” was hard on the eyes and not intuitive to complete. The 3D packs in the extreme category have links that are hidden by other ones e.g. the skyscraper pack. The mountain pack is very difficult to get your line going where you want it. Jumbo cubes look squashed or stretched depending on layout of the links. And the worst part of the game is the button layout. They eliminated the level navigation buttons, and put the hint button in their place. They also moved the reset level button to the corner where the hint button is in all the other games. This alone knocked a star off. You have four other games laid out in one specific way. Why would you change that for the fifth? In summary. I will finish all the packs eventually. But will I have a 3000 day daily streak like I do in the original, or do the weekly’s? I doubt it. I would’ve preferred additional packs to be released for the other games than getting this one. They were ambitious. Props for the effort. But after several hundred levels, my biggest takeaway is that my eyes hurt. Cheers.

No brainer

I've played the original game for over 2,600 days. Part of my daily routine is playing my Flow games. I didn't even need to think about this one. I got it, then bought all the levels before even playing a puzzle. After having gone through the starter pack, my faith was justified. This new game is fantastic.

Love the game

As someone who completed every single level in the normal flow free app including the levels that needed to be bought I got so excited when I got the in game notification of a new game releasing that’s just as similar as the regular version but with a nice shape twist, I got so excited. I’m on the train haven’t even played this new app because of the slow service but I’m already so excited for this new game honestly.

Unnecessary addition

I’ve been playing these games for a very long time. I have the other 4 Flow puzzles with all of the levels purchased and 100%!Perfect completion on all of them. So when a new game dropped I got excited and downloaded it. Ultimately, it’s just the original Flow game but less aesthetically pleasing. This isn’t enough to get me to write a review though. I’m writing the review because they swapped the locations of the Reset and Hint buttons after over 8 years of daily playing. In the past 20 minutes I’ve already wasted 2 hints that I didn’t need. Very scummy to swap positions of the frequently used Reset button and the Hint button which costs money.

Another fun one but with a frustrating change

A great addition to the lineup but frustratingly they’ve swapped the reset button and the hint button locations. Muscle memory from their other games has had me hit the hint button too many times when I simply wanted to reset the puzzle. Please switch this back to the way your other games have had it.

So much fun!

I absolutely love all of the Flow Free games, so I was super excited when this one came out! They’ve taken the flow games to a new level with the different shapes. My only complaint is that the hint and restart buttons are switched from all of the other flow free games, which makes it so I accidentally use a hint instead of restarting the level.

Another amazing game!

And thank you for continuing to make the ad free version a one time payment and giving access to all the levels. It’s a rare thing to find great apps that don’t lock features behind in app purchases and constantly ask for more money.
