Description of Pulse

Pulse is a developer tool for logging and debugging network requests in apps developed for Apple platforms. This companion app allows you to view the logs collected by Pulse. The app requires a subscription to access its features, including: - View logs collected on your test devices - Debug network errors, including the decoding errors - Analyze the performance of the app using network metrics You can start using Pulse by integrating its free and open-source SDK that allows you to collect and view logs on your test devices. Unlike traditional network proxies, Pulse integrates into your app at the URLSession level, requiring no custom network root certificates. It also unlocks new powerful features, such as viewing the decoding errors and mocking the URLSession APIs. • Great App

The app functions with no issues on silicon Mac running Sonoma and Sequoia. There is a bit of setup on the SDK side, however the convenient functions the developer provides get you up and running quickly. All the network/console logs were captured. This tool is a great workflow component for QA testers with the ability to export logs from the iOS device.

  • Unpolished/unprofessional garbage

I am not sure what the author is thinking here… I mean, having a desktop app companion for Pulse debugging framework is a great idea. But this app crashes and hangs constantly. Not something I expect for a subscription based application.

Also: Nobody is going to want to pay for a MAS subscription to use this companion app. This is essentially a non-starter for any large company if the only route to purchasing this companion app is a MAS subscription.

    Developer Response

Hey, support for team licenses and some major improvements to the app are coming in the future. It will require a few more iterations to get it right on macOS.
