  • Used to be great, but now not so much

I used to use this app all the time but recently it requires a password every time you open the app. I don’t have time to search for passwords when I’m on the floor.
  • Can’t use. Only goes to Naproxen

Have not been able to get information on any medication. Everything brings up Naproxen.
  • Password issues

I used to love this app (and other Micromedex apps) but now it is requiring I enter the password every single time I open the app. And the passwords aren’t self set and are always a weird combo of letters and numbers that I won’t possibly be able to memorize. This is paid for by my employer and it was annoying enough when my password randomly would expire but now, it’s rendering this app nearly useless. In the ED... I don’t have time to look up passwords on the computer to look up a drug or IV compatibility. This needs fixed.

  • Crashes

    Piece of Junk app
  • App Keeps Crashing

This app keeps crashing. I can’t even open it.
  • Neee an update with the new iOS

This app has been my go to app so far along with Lexicomp. A major flaw with this app is that they haven’t updated the app with the new iOS and the new iPhone X compatibility. It is really annoying to be stuck at the older app. The developers need to update the app and make it more compatible and viewer friendly. I have a paid version for this app and I believe I am not asking for too much.

  • Keeps requesting password

This review will echo many before it, but it doesn't seem that the message is getting through to the developers. I work for an institution that gives us a password to use with this app. I enter this password and gain access, but then every few days I am again asked for my password. The purpose of this app is quick reference. I should only have to enter a password once. Because I don't memorize this password or have the time to enter it each time even if I did remember it, the app is unusable. This means my institution is paying for something that they are not getting. This problem has been present for over a year. This tells me that customer service at Micromedex is lacking. It's too bad too because this was a great app when it worked. I now go elsewhere for drug information, recommend others do the same, and have passed this information on to the administration at my institution.

  • Great app!

I have loved Micromedex for the past 8 or so years I've been using it, and am so glad to have it as an app on my phone. I honestly cannot understand the poor reviews. It contains just about any basic information you need on any drug. It saves me buying the Davis' drug book every couple years. I too had the problem of the app crashing as soon as I opened it after an update. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it worked flawlessly! As for the password thing, if you work for, or have clinicals at a hospital just go on the Micromedex site there and you can find their mobile password. If not, $2.99 a year for updated drug info is a small price to pay! You pay much more for a drug handbook that is outdated quickly.

  • Refuse to subscribe & teach a lesson re:GREED

I refuse to subscribe based on principle, not cost. The person at Truven that proposed and those that approved this new revenue stream have managed to destroy your customer satisfaction. I wanted an app that didn't require any sort of internet access (ever after the initial download) - if I did, I would have just used Google to get the drug info. I am a nurse and a healthcare IT clinical consultant that USED to recommend Micromedex to all my clients; all of which are hospitals, health systems, and university medical centers. Congratulations, I have already found your replacement. I hope everyone teaches Truven a lesson about greed.

Truven is forcing everyone into a subscription fee for their apps. So I am discontinuing use of all of their apps. I will NEVER recommend a Truven app to my clients again. They pay health institution rates which are much higher than $2.99/yr, but Truven did such a horrible job of implementing the new fee structure for individuals, that I no longer trust their customer service skills. I would hate for one of my clients to experience something similar for their institution fees.

  • This is for web subscribers only! Get the $2.99 version if you are not a web subscriber!

Many people rated this app 1 star because they seemingly didn't understand that it is only to be used if your institution has a micromedex subscription, and those that do subscribe couldn't figure out how to get their password. Truven created this version so that they can offer the mobile app as part of a subscription package, without requiring the subscribers to the web version to also buy the app separately AND to be able to offer the app to those who don't want the full web subscription. If you do not have a subscription, there is a $2.99 per year version that you can buy and use without having a subscription to micromedex. Look for that one if this situation applies to you! If you are a web subscriber, log in on the web and click "mobileMicromedex" on the top left to get your password. Overall the micromedex app works very well and I would recommend it to any pharmacist or student. (I am a pharmacy student - and no, I don't work for Truven :)
