  • My New Favorite iPhone Camera App

I honestly didn’t think I needed another camera app. Most of the time I’m fine with the default app. Many of the camera apps I have are bloated with too many features, controls, in-app purchases, etc.

This X4PN app is different. It’s no-nonsense and gives you just enough features, with beautiful film emulations, and isn’t bloated with features and settings you’ll likely never use. X4PN makes beautiful images and puts the focus back on composition and not on tweaking app settings.

Simply put, X4PN makes iPhone photography fun again!
  • Meh

Simple interface makes it easy to take a “classic” style pano. However, the app only produces a 6mp jpeg on an iPhone 15 Pro which is basically useless for anything other than a lackluster social media post. I’d say the app is just about worth the current 99 cent price.

You can enable the 48mp sensor in the Settings.app page of the app. You can also select lossless HEIC saving there. I looked into supporting RAW but you can’t crop or alter raw images so that makes it not very useful for this app because it needs at least cropping.
  • A simply lovely camera

A simple camera without the bells and whistles in the best possible way .. lovely photos, a pleasure to use .. glad it’s here.
  • Pano without the pivot

Owned an Hasselblad XPan back in the day and loved the aspect ratio. Great to see it emulated here.

Great first effort however if the Developer can add the following features in future releases:
    - add location data
    - allow various cameras to be selected (if available)
    - enable volume for alternate shutter
    - allow adjustable features found only in Settings to be selected within the app (wide lens preferred vs 48mp camera) to quickly toggle between features instead of leaving app.

Location data is coming in the next update. Lens switching using the volume keys as shutter button have already been added! Thanks for the feedback!
  • Initial feedback iPhone 15Pro Max

I look forward to trying this after just downloading it. I like the simplicity of it, however the most confusing thing is how to get out of the app after taking the photo?
  • Neat

I think balanced looks the best. Definitely gives off an anamorphic feel. Definitely looks better than a standard iPhone photo. However, I’ve enabled the 48MP camera and XP4N will still only shoot in 24MP.

Hi there! Did you also enable the ultra-wide angle lens? Because those are mutually exclusive. On iPhone 14/15 the ultra wide lens has a different sensor than the default lens.
  • Awesome single-click cam

I haven’t used an app like this in years - I dig the simplicity. Looking forward to using this on my upcoming trip.

Maybe a little help for us lefties? If I hold the phone like I usually do for Camera with this app, the picture is upside down, and shutter button moves the right instead of left. Plus if I could use the volume button as a shutter… 🤌🏻

Hi, thanks for the feedback and the review! Volume button support is coming shortly in the next update :-)
