Didn’t work!
Downloaded & my child’s phone could still access gif images 😡
Response from developer
We try to make this clear in the app, but any GIF images that have already been viewed will still be visible, because they are already downloaded and cached on the device. However, the app will block downloading any new GIFs. So, to test if it is working, you'll need to search for a brand new phrase. The only way we know how to remove GIFs that have already been viewed is to factory reset the phone, and then install the app right away. We have heard from several parents who have done this successfully. If this wasn't the problem you were having, please reach out to us at https://gertrude.app/contact - we'd be happy to dig in and figure out what went wrong. Really sorry you're frustrated!
THANK YOU
Thank you for creating this app. This is a life saver
Great App
Fixes screen time loop holes
Finally!!
Finally some help for parents! Ever since the iOS 17 update, there has been no way to block inappropriate GIFs. I have emailed Apple, written paper letters, posted on Apple message boards but to no avail. Thank you for creating this app!
So happy for this!
Apple Screen Time has some helpful features, but there are a few glaring holes in its capabilities that allow kids to easily access adult images in really easy ways. Gertrude Blocker plugs the holes the Apple missed, and finally gives parents the ability to put a safe phone in their kids’ hands. Thanks for making this!!

Porn-free kids’ phones. Thank you!
We try to keep our kids’ phones in a state where they are unable to view porn. Apple does a good job giving parents controls but they left a couple of holes! This is the only app that I know of that fills in those holes. Thank you!!
Does what it says
Finally, a way to block #images GIFs in the Messages texting app! A glaring hole in Screen Time for over a year. Works perfect. 👍
