Great!

I love this! It’s a nice widget to have on your phone to help you dive deeper into scripture throughout the day!

Good intentions bad execution

This app pulls random scriptures, and out of context it is confusing. It would be nice if it stuck with proverbs, the beatitudes, and scriptures that have one thought. But the random order brings scriptures pulled from a story out of context, and all you read is a man walked into a field. Or the people went to stone him. And you can’t choose the translation so everything is KJV.

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. The intention of the app is to allow you to explore random verses based on the time of day, that is the heart of the app. To get to the whole story - you simply tap on a verse to reveal the "Read More" button which will open the verse into the YouVersion app, or into a Bible website if you don't have that app installed. The idea is that through the course of time every verse in the Bible will be displayed (At the top of the hour, a random verse that doesn't fit on the clock is shown), no matter how seemingly inconsequential. In the next version I'm going to add some additional options to the widget which will allow you to jump into reading the full chapter directly from the widget. I'm also considering your more curated option as a different mode you can select in the app, though the difficulty is the verse choices for higher minutes becomes a bit sparse (57/58/59) More versions are coming, but unfortunately most all modern Bible versions need individual licensing terms arranged, I'm hopeful I will be able to add some other options by the end of the year. - Jason
