As of May 2019, this app hasn’t seen an update in 4 years and should be considered abandoned by the developer. 1 Star!
Works well
After the update the app seems to work intermittently in the background even with background app refresh on.
Disappointed
My iPhone sends frequent connect/disconnect notification alerts when the device is only a few inches away. Sometimes I receive 20 alerts in a single day. Elgato tech support wrote, "When the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were released, there were reports of Bluetooth issues (not just Elgato devices).” I don’t accept that because I use three other Bluetooth products without any issues. I have ios 8.1.3 installed. The ‘Find’ feature works reliably so it appears the iPhone and the Smart Key are not losing the connection.

Awesome in every way!
I originally ordered a stickr trackr (competing brand) to attach to an expensive flash drive. The app didn't work at all and not only did I have all kinds of phone problems when it was installed, I completely lost the flash drive with trackr attached with no hope of recovery.
Then I ordered an Elgato Smart Key to attach to a new drive and it has performed flawlessly! Not only has it already helped me find the flash drive using the map and audible alarm, but it also makes my Pebble Smartwatch buzz when I leave it behind (make sure Elgato is enabled for Notification Center to make this work). I couldn't be happier!

Safe zones don't work
This last update is terrible. Safe zones don't work. Not a big deal? Hardly. If you leave your device to far away you be awakened of and on at night when it connects and disconnects. I constantly have alerts when at my safe zones that in leaving behind. Annoying as it can be. Please fix!
Solid... However....
Solid product.... I will not lose my keys again after testing this product. However, when out of range my phone plays a faint noise.... It is a unique noise which is positive but a push notification would be better.... In fact.... Options that would allow a push notification every hour would be even better... 4 stars.... Add push notification options and I am in for 5 stars great product.

Almost there
When my device disconnects, it is often shows location unknown. This could make it so that I can't find my keys. Please fix. Also, I would like the option of seeing the actual GPS location.

Elgato Smart Key
Since the recent update to version 1.1 Smart key is suffering reliability issues, loss of connection and a huge increase in battery drain on my iPhone.
Until this improves, I will be reinstalling version 1.

works as advertised but sound on the Smart Key not loud enough
As someone who constantly misplaces his iphone or car keys, the Elgato Smart Key is godsent. The app is easy enough to use, and the whole system works as advertised. My only quibble is that the sound the key chain makes when it gets separated from my iPhone is barely audible.
