Absolutely disgusting

Another free site full of fake freeloaders want something nothing take take take all the time to advantage a hard class working people want something for nothing and abuse people and have no intentions of taking the stuff wasting peoples time and hard-working people when they sit on social media all day long begging for free stuff and rude and abusive in return absolute shocking sitefull of fake freeloaders. I want something for nothing and they’re not even harmless. Something is pretending for charities to make the self look big and they don’t put the hand in their own pocket.

Run by jobsworth

Great idea of a site but run by over petty moderators and for the wrong reasons. Ie knives are happy accepted to be give away and they say it’s up-to the person to check the other person’s age (smh) other sites like eBay just ban knives, full stop, it’s that easy. Also doing things for charities are also band! Charities…really. What sort of site is this?

Freecycle or Trash Nothing?

I have been a freecycle member for years. I wondered if there was an app, so I searched the store. The app is “Freecycle + Trash Nothing” — which I thought was strange. I downloaded it. When you open it, only “Trash Nothing” appears, and the logo isn’t the freecycle logo. I thought maybe the name change. But I couldn’t log in with my freecycle credentials. Had to create a new account. And they don’t seem linked. I have to post my items in both places. So I can only see my freecycle messages by being logged in in the website.

Reading messages is confusing. I world see an icon showing that I have a message. I clicked on the envelope icon, and everything there I had read. It took me a while to figure out that there’s a dropdown for different types of messages — re items you posted, items you’ve inquired about, notifications. That’s nice, but it’s not very clear.

Convenient and easy to use

I love how convenient this app truly is. As a trash nothing website user this app allows me easy access to local content right on my phone!

Great app for giving away stuff you don’t need

Love this app! Only comment would be that the photo taking facility could work a little better when using photos from the phone’s library (works better if you take photos directly within the app).

I'm glad you're enjoying the app. Regarding adding photos from the photo library, some other people have run into a similar problem on Apple devices. They reported that they had accidentally limited trash nothing to only access a few photos instead of giving trash nothing access to all the photos and this prevented them from ever seeing other photos. This is a privacy option that Apple makes available but it does limit functionality. To fix this, you'll need to change the iOS permissions that the trash nothing app has. You can usually do this from the iOS Settings app. Another way to reset the permissions for the app is to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Bags

After changing the interface, a number of issues have appeared, such as when I scroll to the home page, I get thrown to the messages page or other tabs. The same happens when I go to the ad page and try to send a message.

Won’t let me sign in or create an account

I Have tried repeatedly to sign in to my old account
I’ve tried making. A new account
I’ve tried different email addresses
I’ve tried signing in with Google
I’ve also tried to Sign in with Apple creating a new account
It won’t let me sign in with any of the options
It won’t let me create a new account
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the app I’ve tried accessing through the website
I really used to love using this app to giveaway things or to receive them
But now I cannot access this service
And I don’t know why
Ive checked my spam folders
I’ve emailed customer support but they never reply
Nothing works

Like the app…not sure about the people

Basically happy with the app. But it’s not uncommon after I mark and item “promised” for several people to ask to get it if the person doesn’t show up. I’ve had that happen a lot and then when I reach back to the people who seemed to really want it to tell them in fact they can have it I never hear from them. So is this a problem with how the app is set up so people aren’t seeing my follow up messages ? Or maybe it’s the people?
I’ve also dealt with really nice folks as well who respond quickly. So despite frustrations it is decent app for helping you declutter and keep things out of landfills.

It’s love and hate relationship

The idea is absolutely brilliant but unfortunately it’s incredibly frustrating as the messaging part is so unreliable, I received message about items I have or want but they don’t ever receive my messages back. So I get my hopes up for collecting a item but I never actually get anything as I am unable to converse with the person. Really gutted as I have miss a fair few good items that I needed.

If you contact us at support@trashnothing.com we can double-check that your messages are working. To make messaging work better, trash nothing sends messages 3 different ways to increase the chances that your message are seen. Messages are shown in the app and every message is also sent by email and people also receive push notifications about new messages. And when people post or reply to a post, they are reminded to check their spam folder regularly for replies. Sometimes it can also help to send another message if you don't hear back within a day or two.
