Great for Piloting
Excellent tool for piloting.
Things I’d like to see in future updates
Improved night and dusk display - they are useless because they aren’t clear enough. I currently always use day mode with the dimmer turned right down.
Automatic Meeting points only selecting moving (or with AIS status set to underway) targets, rather than every vessel regardless of their location.
More navigational features such as range and bearing measuring devices that are independent of ships position.
Ability to view all data from all legs on a route plan including courses and distances in a table, rather than just displaying the lines and the next course.
Having a ‘waypoint bank’ to select frequently used waypoints to add to a route.
Ability to create a passage plan/route in table form, and ability to add/edit/view notes to certain waypoints in the table, such as reporting points.
Better visibility on the clock, sometimes it’s almost completely invisible due to the White colour on a white background. Just make it bold black, on day mode, and bold white on night mode.
Battery percentage symbol next to the battery level indicator.
Lines on vectors to show minutes.
Slightly thicker heading line
Ability to interrogate chart features such as buoys, beacons, light sectors.
Full length leading light sector (or user adjustable length) lines.
Anchorage/spoil ground names/numbers.
Take the best features that you see on approved ECDIS systems, and even from SeaIQ, which has much better chart visibility than current SafePilot.
Thanks for reading!
