3.00.00

November 2, 2017

The entire codebase has been brought into 2017 with a full rewrite for version 3.0.0. This version includes many improvements and additions to the techniques, as well as fixes every single bug ever reported (because it's all new code... which really just means I probably made a few more somewhere else) A few noteworthy things include that the Journal is now locked using the device's biometric identification system if enabled, instead of a crappy little PIN. Unfortunately, though... I couldn't save the Journal tags in the migration... Well, the tags are there... They just don't remember who they belong to.... I think it's a fair trade, but feel free to stay in 2011 if you disagree with me. For potentially-sarcastic customer support for all of these changes, email matt@guardanis.com

Description of Lucid Dreamer

The first step to controlling a dream is realizing you are actually asleep. To help you do that, Lucid Dreamer will play a series of audio and/or visual cues during your sleep cycles. When you wake up, you can record your dreams with our free, secure, PIN-protected Dream Journal. Your entries can be written or voice recorded, can be tagged, and you can even log technique metrics. If you want to get even more advanced or try additional techniques, we’ve also built Lucid Dreamer Pro ($6.99) directly into this free version: + Reality Checker - Stop looking at your hand, counting your toes, or whatever habit you've been trying to form. The Checker can remember to do it for you, when convenient for you, and then alert you by sound, vibration, or even notification up to 287 times per day. + Paralyzer - Sleep Paralysis is a state in which your mind is awake, but your body is completely asleep. This transitional state can be used to achieve lucidity and the Paralyzer can help you enter into it. + Da Vinci – Although hard to get used to, cycle adjustment techniques can help you be far more productive throughout the day and even experience more frequent lucid dreams. Da Vinci can help you plan, and adhere to, the best cycles for you (default: Uberman Polyphasic Sleep Cycle). + Custom Music Selection – Use your own audio cues, Binaural Beats, or even record your own voice for use with the Dreamer. + Dreamscapes, Focalizer, Subliminator – Everything you see, hear, think about, and experience throughout the day has a direct impact on the contents of your dreams. These pre-sleep visual augmentations to Lucid Dreamer are designed to help you focus and direct those contents via color psychology, focal imagery, and rapid visual stimulation. -- When you’re lucid dreaming, the only limit is your own imagination. • Great App, good for journaling

This is a great app for your dream journal and general lucid dream practice, thought it could use some work. I’m using the free version, so I may need to buy to unlock some of the cooler features, but one complaint I have is towards the dream journal itself. The dream journal has a tag feature, where I can tag the dream as anything. This feature is nifty, but a little pointless without a search feature. I’ve been using this app for years and would love if I could simply search a tag and find all dreams that use that tag. Otherwise, this is great stuff! Very sleek night-friendly interface. It would also be cool to be able to use the app with my device horizontal, rather than exclusively vertical.

  • Pretty basic, minimal help files

The initial screen just has a timer with play & pause buttons that do nothing. My assumption was the timer was for the length of the dream cues but it turns out to be a countdown until you're asleep. The play & pause buttons only work after you've pressed Start below and after the countdown reaches 0. The UI looks nice but is not intuitive at all, basically counter intuitive.

  • Great app but I think I broke it

I tried out the reality checker and tried to edit the message it sends and clicked out of the typing pad. Now I can’t edit it. Help?
