Great idea, unfinished product (update)

I want to like this app, that’s why I haven’t deleted it hoping the developers could fix the bug issues. With every update, it never works. Either certain components are inaccurate, don’t work or the entire program is prone to crashing. It could be a great app, but unfortunately it’s useless and it’s never once worked.

Update: over the last few years I have tried to use this app and it NEVER works. Either functions don’t work or the app crashes or never loads.

I have wanted to like this app for so long, but it’s so buggy and I don’t think the app developers put much time into it. Oh well…amazing idea, good anticipated execution, poor actual execution.

Great app, but room for improvement

The icons are not easy to understand. I often think one means something and then have to navigate through multiple until I find what I want. There’s also a lot of lakes missing on the app.

I wish I could give this app 5 stars

This app seems so cool and has a lot of good information and intentions, but it crashes every 30 seconds to where it has become unusable. I live in the St Pete beach area in Florida and this app has so much great free knowledge on it, but again it crashes seconds after I get on it and start exploring the map.

Could be the best navigation app

If the bridges were all updated on the ICW with contact info and height information and if the app would stop crashing it would be the only app you would ever need.

Total fail disappointed.

Constantly crashes

This app **could** be great, if it only worked! I have yet to use it without crashing. Besides crashing constantly, when it does work, it seems you can only tap on a few icons, then they no longer open to show what the icon is. Then the app crashes. The idea of this app is great, which is the only reason I haven’t deleted it. I keep hoping the stability issues will be resolved.

It looks like you're using an older version of the app - Please update KnowWake from the AppStore when you get a chance and connect with us at info@knowwake.com if you're still having a problem. We're certain we can get it fixed. Thanks We haven't heard from you yet via email- Please try deleting KnowWake entirely and re-downloading from the AppStore. This can fix persistent crashes for unknown reasons and is worth a try. Also give the chart a few seconds to load after opening. If all the points on, the wake zones and channel markers etc, it's a lot and needs to load before being super-responsive while zooming and surfing the chart. Based on network connectivity, sometimes it's very quick - When it's done you will feel the app pulse with a haptic vibration. Send us an email to info@knowwake.com when able as well. Thanks

Know exactly where you are.

I always use this app when boating locally in South Florida. To my amazement, I took a cruise to Alaska and at all times was able to see my location, inside passage, Glacier Bay, Canadian coasts Victoria, etc. Impressive. I recommend this app to all boaters and non alike.

Helped a lot!

I recently moved a boat about eighty miles from the place where I bought it to where I wanted to take it out. There were plenty of opportunities to take a wrong turn, but using Know Wake for position and a larger map for the big picture enabled us to navigate with complete confidence. It was also handy to know about upcoming marinas or other points of interest. Great app.

Finally

I’m always battling to understand the wake zones and speeds. Finally this app makes it clear and concise as to where the different zones are and the appropriate speeds to be traveling along different parts of the ICW.

Needs more work to make it narrowboat relative

I have started adding swing bridges, but am surprised that there is no option yet to add water points, Elsan disposal, pump out sites, showers, toilets, and rubbish disposal. These are vital for canal boaters. Can you please make it possible to add these? I am using other canal maps to add bridge information and am keen to do more to make this a really useful app.
