I am writing to fully support Gene Garbowski’s invention SwitchDraw. I believe this game could be so useful to kids and families to enhance ways to connect in a fun, collaborative, non threatening manner. Many families today are experiencing high levels of demand in their personal and professional lives. Kids have rigid demands to perform at school and parents have unrealistic demands at work. SwitchDraw is a fluid, playful, inventive activity that doesn’t require any ability other than wanting to “be together” and “create together”. This is certainly an antidote to stressful interactions. This game can be played in short or long intervals. It is magical and breeds a can do attitude. As a therapist of 32 years I can attest to the joy that people express when asked to participate in something as non threatening and connecting as SwitchDraw. I have used this game with many clients when they first enter counselling to establish a connected rapport. After all one of the most brilliant Psychiatrists, Donald Winnicott recommended this as a treatment technique that he called the squiggle game. In the good old days paper and pencil were good enough, but now kids expect to be engaged electronically and carry a device with them at all times and so do their parents. When they have a melt down instead of getting an angry child to talk, redirect them with this fun, connecting activity and before you know it, they will be back to their delightful selves. How do I know this? I am also a parent who raised a temperamental child who was frequently pacified and reengaged with this game. Gene played it with us, and we had many hours of laughter, creativity and developed lifelong memories that as a young woman she recounts. She works with emotional kids in an after school program and uses this game to celebrate the joy of being free, creative and connected. This is a fantastic invention.
Please use with caution because you might not get a lot of tasks accomplished once you switch to SwitchDraw.

  • Fun Creative Game/ booster!

I love that this game is now available as an app. My husband and I played this on one of our first dates on the back of a paper placemat – and it was such an amazing ice breaker. This game can be played with all ages and really does get your brain to exercise its problem-solving/ creative muscles. I work as an Art Director at a large TV network, and this app has actually helped me get warmed-up/ loosen-up when I’m feeling creatively stuck. Overall it’s really fun, breaks the ice, helps with creativity and something I recommend to everyone – especially now during this pandemic where we are all stuck at home! I do wish it were available to play on the computer / online somehow- that would really benefit the users!

  • Cousin Patty

Great game... passed it on to a friends autistic grandson... loves it
  • Unbelievably creative

This game is the bomb. Kids love it. Adults love it. You can spend hours with a friend just drawing all kinds of things with scribbles. The sky is the limit!! Highly recommended!
  • The doodle game come to life

It’s somehow oddly satisfying transforming random squiggles into recognizable objects. It’s very easy to play on your phone and its just a fun game for when you’re too tired to try and do a word puzzle but still want to do something rewarding. So far all of my doodles have ended up looking like funny old men and dinosaurs, but what’s wrong with that? Overall very fun and strangely satisfying.

  • Too much fun

I like to draw crazy cartoons. SwitchDraw brings all kinds of stuff outta the deepest hidden reaches of my imagination.
  • Very creative game

This is a great game that you feel good about your kids and grandkids playing! My granddaughter loves making whimsical creatures and I can tell it really fuels her imagination. It’s fun to play with her and is wonderful for initiating conversations with her!
  • I Love it!

My three grandchildren are staying at home in another state and schooling. We can still have fun and bond together through “SwitchDraw”. What a miracle! It’s also great because, as a retired art director and artist, I missed the imagination energy I would get brainstorming and doing art with others!”
