  • Outstanding Application!

This app is exactly what I was looking for!
Handwriting recognition is excellent. Photo recognition app worked amazingly well on some old music books I purchased many years ago. Having the image converted and played was well worth the purchase!
  • Notate me

As a learner, I am happy enough with the app itself, with only minor complaints. I would like more features added, but for now, it satisfies my need. My biggest problem is the crashing. It crashes every time I use it. This is very frustrating especially as I’ve spent possibly 2 hours writing something out. I’d also like to be able to import pdf sheet music from my drive and export directly to forScore. Other than these, I’m happy enough so far... pricey though £38!

  • Useful App!

I use Notate Me to transcribe manuscripts of (mostly) Baroque music into modern notation and have found the app to be quick to learn and generally very useful. There are a few things that can be frustrating (Baroque ornamentation, for one!) and I do wish grace notes (with and without slashes through the stems) were included in the menu of notations you can add -- but overall I would recommend this app. It's pricey, but not so much compared to the heavy duty music-processing programs like Sibelius.

  • Steep learning curve

Not the most intuitive software for a hefty price. Entering lyrics is really difficult, they come out jumbled and illegible. So not happy.
  • I want a refund

After shelling out more than a hundred dollars for this app to convert our church songs to score, PhotoScore (full version in-app) did not work on my iPad Pro. While the lite free version worked wonderfully, converting the partial top parts of scanned sheets, PhotoScore (full) shows a blank list of photos (though flashed the list in milliseconds). Please fix bug or refund my Apple apps purchase.

  • Needs more symbols

Should include reverse flats and other symbols otherwise I like this app. Also more instruments. It is worth persevering with it so it learns your style, which does take time. The export to midi is a brilliant function.
  • Poor

A very disappointing app. Almost as bad as Photoscore
  • Great app works

Great app works very well with handwriting and saves a lot of time in writing out music. Could be slightly better in terms of formatting tunes etc but generally really useful and well worth having.
  • Great Idea!

This app is still frustrating! If you want to actually compose music, this app is useless (in my humble opinion). It is so poor at consistently recognizing notation that you feel you are just trying to figure out the app, not writing music. It is rare that I am able to write a single bar of music without having to fix something. I've been recently trying the app again, this time with an Apple Pencil, and the results are no better.

  • Have never had a problem

I'm surprised by all the negative comments. I love this app and use it with my piano students who are interested in composition. I have iPad Pro 12.9 and Apple Pencil and it notates so easily. Of course, when I have a complex pattern it often gets it wrong first time, but after I fix it, it seems to get it right every time after that. The copy and paste feature is a great time saver. I have never had a crash.
