  • Pile of junk

Constant network error messages, even though all other apps work fine. Can't access my paid content or subscription. Clearly the developers of this app are incompetent.
  • Confusing

The app seems to be focused on climbing social media.

It's easy to see recent climbs of some dirt bagger who's climbing a lot.

But good luck if you want to find someplace to climb, or to log a climb.

    the website is better.
  • Choss

    Browser version is much better
  • Used to love this app.

Vertical Life used to be the only thing I needed for logging ascents - especially indoors. As of the last update it is quite literally unusable.

Most notably is the fact that trying to view previous ascents in the logbook causes the page to be automatically redirected to unrelated lines - if and when it doesn't close the page entirely if not completely crash the app.

Among SO many other bugs. I don't know what happened, and I'm sure many people are working hard to try to fix it. But this app isn't worth using as it is right now.

We detected the crash and are publishing a potential fix with the next release. Re the logbook misdirect - thanks for reporting this, we were not aware of it. It will be fixed with the next update, version 6.14.11 . If you have more info about the issues you experience, please let us know by writing to support@vertical-life.info. If the next version improves your experience with the app, we’d happy if you update your review to let us know. Thanks.
  • Can no longer login

Downloaded the app two weeks ago and it was working fine. Opened the app today and I was logged out. Tried to login and a white page flashed then nothing. Tried many times… nothing. What’s the point of having the app on the phone if you can’t use it?
  • Download for offline? Doesn’t work

Any app that requires an internet connection is bad. Doing that with a climbing guidebook app is irresponsible, irritating, and not safe.

    Developer Response

You can download all crag topos for offline use. On the crag info screen, there is a download button.
  • Awful app

    Don’t even bother !!
  • Can’t use it cause they don’t have my gym

I live in Whistler British Columbia and they don’t have my gym so you can’t use the app at all kind of disappointing but I was pretty excited to use this
  • Mainly sport climbing

What I’ve noticed about the app, is that it’s main focus is on sport climbing. The trad crags which are listed are just showing five or six routes. Holyhead Mountain has an abundance of trad climbing, some of it very hard.

Yet, the support is not there, no indication of hard trad climbing. Which is actually really sad.

  • Cool but horrible UI

So incredibly difficult to navigate. I have to scroll through every boulder at my crag to tick something lol. Changing from font to hueco scale doesn’t do anything. Way way way too difficult to figure anything out.
Also I was told there’s a guidebook uploaded to it but I literally can’t find it. 😂

    Developer Response

Hey! You can search boulders, crags and guidebooks (collections) in the search bar on top of the home screen. Either way, you are right that navigating the app could be easier in some cases, and we are working on improving it, the first of several improvements just went out yesterday. If you still have trouble to find your content, please get in touch at support@vertical-life.info and we’ll help you. Cheers
