Excellent app provides up to date mobile guide book

Vertical life offers great physical book quality topos and information right on your phone. I particularly enjoy the fact that I get to use the actual guide book, and it stays up to date.

Thank you :-)

Pay twice with vertical life

For years vertical life offered a great digital alternative to have a purchased climbing book on your phone. A few weeks ago that changed where now, even after buying the book which includes free access to vertical life. You have to also purchase a subscription. There is no zero reason to use vertical life over the other online topo apps now. They should have at least Grandfathered existing purchases. I feel cheated

This should def. not be the case. It would be nice if you could get in touch so we can figure what happened to your content. You do not need a subscription to use book vouchers.

Clunky and frustrating

Vague network error messages, even though all other apps work fine. Really annoying UX that loses your place when you go back, requiring you to start over from the home page and re-find what you were looking at.

Response from developer

If you cannot access your paid content, you are probably logged in with the wrong account. You might have disabled mobile network for the app, too. If you want help, please contact our support.

Pile of junk

Constant network error messages, even though all other apps work fine. Can't access my paid content or subscription. Clearly the developers of this app are incompetent.

Confusing

The app seems to be focused on climbing social media.

It's easy to see recent climbs of some dirt bagger who's climbing a lot.

But good luck if you want to find someplace to climb, or to log a climb.

the website is better.

Choss

Browser version is much better

Used to love this app.

Vertical Life used to be the only thing I needed for logging ascents - especially indoors. As of the last update it is quite literally unusable.

Most notably is the fact that trying to view previous ascents in the logbook causes the page to be automatically redirected to unrelated lines - if and when it doesn't close the page entirely if not completely crash the app.

Among SO many other bugs. I don't know what happened, and I'm sure many people are working hard to try to fix it. But this app isn't worth using as it is right now.

Response from developer

We detected the crash and are publishing a potential fix with the next release. Re the logbook misdirect - thanks for reporting this, we were not aware of it. It will be fixed with the next update, version 6.14.11 . If you have more info about the issues you experience, please let us know by writing to support@vertical-life.info. If the next version improves your experience with the app, weโ€™d happy if you update your review to let us know. Thanks.

Can no longer login

Downloaded the app two weeks ago and it was working fine. Opened the app today and I was logged out. Tried to login and a white page flashed then nothing. Tried many timesโ€ฆ nothing. Whatโ€™s the point of having the app on the phone if you canโ€™t use it?

Download for offline? Doesnโ€™t work

Any app that requires an internet connection is bad. Doing that with a climbing guidebook app is irresponsible, irritating, and not safe.

Response from developer

You can download all crag topos for offline use. On the crag info screen, there is a download button.

Awful app

Donโ€™t even bother !!
