Tunnel Vision

The developer has made a handy little app which this user has had running for years on Watch and iPhone. While the app duplicates what other built in functionalities of iOS provide it occupies a special niche. One curiosity remains. If you are going to play in the Apple arena which embraces sharing and cross functionality, why stop short of sharing iPhone data booked with iPad? Cross Forward does not appear to understand its customer community. If it thinks that porting data collected via iPhone to iPad is not what Apple users expect; if it views the roadblock as creating the same *tracking* functionality of iPhone into iPad, then it needs to change brands of whatever it’s smoking. This user would subscribe $ to the additional features if there was cross-platform sharing of the kind described. Folks are not expecting to lug an iPad on a walk or run. But, the larger screen of iPad lends itself to after-the-fact review of historical activity from the database created via iPhone use of the app. So, Cross Forward, do you have comment? Or, have you checked out. A response would be appreciated.

Data issues

I was well above 30 day streak (I have screenshots to prove it). The streak started in London and then carry out to NY where I stay a couple of weeks. Today I got back to London and my 30+ days streak is now a 3 day streak here, 4 day streak there and the same happen on my wife’s phone. We were doing our best to go beyond 10k steps every day and it was just a great excuse to go out and exercise. Now. Im very dissatisfied with this whole situation. How can this happen? Why was my daily streak going on for days and today all of the sudden doesn’t work? I always had internet connection. So this is either bad calculations with timestamps at different time zones, or a database regression that had bad data. Can this be fixed?

Offline maps and hiking done right

I have two apps that track my walks. Withings because of my watch, and Pedometer++. Why use both? I need the heart rate from Withings but everything else to do with steps, pace, mapping I need Pedometer++.

There is only one feature from tracking walks that I need. I sometimes forget to stop tracking. I then drive home and have all that distance added. If I could trim the end by timestamp it would fix it. Withings and Strava let me - just would be icing on the cake if Pedometer++ did.

Thanks David.

Off?

Why is the total on this app vs apple health (I also have an Apple Watch) sooooooo different?!

Doesn’t make sense since it’s supposed to take its data from there.

(I’ve tried both just taking data from iPhone and from both watch and phone.)

Too expensive

In the good old days, this app would cost $.99. I would pay that in a heartbeat, but three dollars a month forever, forget it.

Where did the complication go?

Can’t see the distance and steps on my watch.. worked perfect before the upgrade.

iPhone app is great, the ipad version, not so much

iPhone app is great, works well, the ipad version, not so much. I’ve opened up many privacy screens to accommodate as much access as possible to both devices as well as the health, pedometer, and maps apps. And synced each to the other… allegedly. But the ipad version is only showing half the distance of the iPhone version, that I was wearing in my pocket. Same with the health app. It shares virtually all info, until it glitches and the numbers are completely different. Since it’s easier to read/work with the ipad version, it would be awesome if they would sync to each other. Anything you can do to make that happen? TIA for any effort!

Edit: The ipad app opens on the steps page, but won’t show steps. It says that the motion & fitness setting needs to be turned on, but the motion & fitness setting IS on in settings, and I’ve double checked the system settings, too. I’ve closed the pedometer app and turned off the ipad completely. When I turn it back on and open the pedometer app, the steps page still comes up, and says the motion & fitness app needs to be turned on.

Fantastically useful Watch App

The Routes functionality available in the Apple Watch app is a fantastic feature - it displays exactly the information I want to see on my wrist when out hiking. It provides at a glance my position on a route and distance travelled - it's very easy to see whether I'm still on route and what features to look out in the immediate vicinity (e.g. split in the track, stream, cliff etc). It's very easy to add routes to the Pedometer++ watch app from my preferred mapping software (OS Maps on iPhone / iPad using Export GPX). A very well designed and useful Watch App - thoroughly recommended!

Works for me!

Thank you to the developer(s) of this app. It is so easy to use, colourful and a little fun ( for a pedometer). I have never been interested in counting steps before, but when my brother showed me this one he is using, I was hooked. Thank you for being a part of my health improvement strategies.

Its ok

This is one of those apps that wouldve been like $5 to buy back in the days before subscriptions existed. I can’t stand that. Its a good app, and you can definitely get by with the free version, but for those who want a little more the cost is outrageous. And I might feel better wearing it if it at least gave us more options. Why am i not able to adjust the time periods? When I’m working a night shift (at the moment I’m working 4 on 4 off- two day shifts and two night shifts) which means i have to add and divide my last three readings into two to get my actual step count. Pure laziness on their part. Disappointing for what they want to charge for premium. Like changing the icon to some ghost-man is soooo cool (not) but jfc, give me some ACTUAL UTILITY!
