Lost bird info connection
I have lost the link between bird info in locations to the birds in field guide and bird guide after update
I have been advised to remove app & reinstall but I’m anxious that I may have to pay again

The data was likely offloaded by an iOS update. The only way to get it back is to download the app again. You will not be charged if you are using the original Apple ID on the store.

Finally an iPad mode!
Been grumbling about this forever and they have fixed it. I love this app, but looking at it sideways on the iPad was a real pest. The navigation is more streamlined too, much better. I use this in conjunction with Morecombe because they have more info on birds such as feeding etc but this app seems to be more accurate about habitats and nomenclature.

Pizzey and Knight and more
This app does a good job of replicating the Pizzey and Knight book, and adds many more features. It has a good selection of birding sites with a bird list for each, weather and other data. There are photos of birds as well as the original plates, and song and call recordings for most species. There is an identification tool which is also very powerful. Since I haven’t been to Australia yet I can’t comment on the location function, nor can I comment on the list function though it seems straightforward enough. If you like the P and K guide you should be very satisfied with the app. It costs a fair amount but is very comprehensive, and a lot lighter than the book!

Better navigation, screen rotation, zoom function and the new My Photos album all contribute to a great update for this excellent resource for birders

Needs update!!
The search function has a bug where once you’ve selected and viewed a bird, when you go back to the search results it has reset therefore you need to re-type the bird name or re-enter a location (depending on which search function you used). This seems like an easy fix and it would pay for the developers to make this change as it has already been a dealbreaker for other people who I have shown the app to. Unfortunately it may be more worthwhile to use the Morcombe app although this would be a great shame due to the great illustrations within this pizzey and Knight app.

Great app
I purchased this app to use on a trip to Western Australia and the Northern Territory in April. It was great not to have to lug a book around on my adventure. By using the song feature, I was able to lure Purple-crowned Fairy Wrens out of the cane grass at the Victoria River Crossing. Worth every penny for the photos that produced!

Pizzey and Knight Birds of Australia
I bought this app a few weeks ago in order to prepare for a trip to Australia. I have never been there and as my trip was to be business I knew i would only have a few hours to bird on one maybe two days. My trip has been postponed and likely will be cancelled. But i have had more fun with this app than I deserved for the money i spent! Wow! This is the best birding app and i didn't even get to test the my location options. For anyone planning a trip spend the money. The cheaper app is good but the value for the extra money far exceeds the cost!

Great app but needs a fix or two
Have been using this for a couple of years after switching from another similar bird app. This is much better as it has very useful photos as well as drawings. However it has a couple of really annoying bugs or deficiencies that don't ever seem to get addressed.
First, creating a new list usually crashes if a space is entered in the place field. Really pretty simple to fix but no updates on 3 years...
A simple improvement would be to retain the search/filter field. At present if a name like crake is entered and one selects one bird from the search list to say compare similar birds, the filter is cleared immediately one returns to the bird list. This makes comparing similar birds a painful exercise as the filter needs to be rekeyed each time. Grr!!
