Leave a Review Polar Flow
Great hardware. Horrendous app.
Legitimately one of the worst app experiences I've ever used. Kindest thing I can say about it is that it hasn't crashed yet. Login flow is tedious and error-prone. Spent several minutes signing up for a new account before being told my email (which was the first thing I entered) was already registered. Then, had to unpair an old HR monitor before the app would notice my new H10, but the app itself cannot remove devices: I had to log in to the web to do that. In order for the app to notice the old HRM was actually removed, I had to uninstall and reinstall (even signing out and back in showed the deleted device). The in-app pairing experience is incongruent: the "pair" screen is only for watches, HRMs are done through the workout UI. Final straw for me was connecting Flow to Strava and etc - this is also done on the web, from within the app, where it makes you log in again. No sense just automatically using the same login info the app already has! Then, on top of it all, the MyFitnessPal integration failed to connect despite successfully going thru the flow multiple times.
TL/DR: Strava works natively with your Polar device. Just use that.Show lessGreat app, so far what I was looking for
I recently bought the H10 heart rate sensor which pairs nicely with this. Had a few set up issues with connecting my heart rate sensor, but seem to have worked through that and may have been related to my phone.
I really like the ability to track workouts & keep a history. I’m 65 so don’t need anything super technical but this app really pulls it all together nicely for me. I’ve been a heart rate sensor, user most of my life and did a lot of marathons when was younger. I like the ability to see the summary and decide maybe it’s time for a day off. Rest is more important as I get older.
One thing which would make this app great is if it would record workouts from memory on the H10 sensor. Evidently it can only do that from the polar beat app which I’ve seen some reviews indicating people are having issues. So for now, I don’t want to switch apps as I’m enjoying the Polar Flow, but making the H10 sensor download from memory within this app would be a definite plus.Show lessWatch always tells me fails to sync
I have the Polar Grit X Pro and the watch always tells me it fails to sync. However it syncs to the app? App also has no personal bests, doesn’t have a good way to track everything you’ve been doing from run, bike, swim, etc. It’s overall a mess of an app to navigate. Everything has such an afterthought feel to it or just comes short of being a good feature. I had a Garmin Fenix 6 prior to this and I prefer the layout of their application and tracking more. Polar does have good metrics of how much carbs and fats you burned which is cool but the ability to compare workouts and all those cool little features need more flow. Also the stop workout button on the watch is silly to clear a message you normally press the “sync/back button” but when you workout and a message comes up if you go to clear the message so you can see your workout it pauses the run. Arguably one of the worst features I’ve seen on a watch. That fix needs to be addressed asapShow less
