Nobody is paying for that subscription

Rip wave wave

sick

this game is so sick gives me geometry dash wave vibes, but the only problem is the ten minute timer for free playing until you have to pay to play. if this didnt exist it would be way better in my opinion, and you could pay to get the perks but either way it would be free to play with ads.

Good game but bad subscription method

I like this game, as a gd player, but the problem is that the devs made the stupid decision to lock it behind a subscription, preventing this game from ever becoming popular or being playable. At least make it a one time purchase to play this game.

You ruined it

This used to be a great game but then you came along and completely ruined it

Another game ruined by GameClub

I've owned Wave Wave since launch many years ago, and opening it now only led to more disappointment.

It's not about anything the developer did. No, the developer of Wave Wave is actually in the process of making another entry to the Wave Franchise as we speak.

GameClub as a publisher has an inherently flawed approach towards indie developers for iOS. How and why? Well who wants to be pay-walled by a subscription that gives you unlimited to tons of games you didn't ask for all to play A SINGULAR GAME WITHOUT LIMITS OR RESTRICTIONS?!

Many other developers have watched some amazing games tank in rating, reviews, and more because of shady and garbage publishers like Playond or GameClub. They do nothing but harm the developers and the users trying to play the game by making nobody want to download the game.
For example, this had happened to WoblyWare and the creator of Daggerhood.

Even as someone who has unlimited access to the game due to my previous purchase of Wave Wave as a paid application, GameClub is genuinely even more intrusive with the fact that it has random pop ups, their obtrusive interactive logo that's in the way of every UI element in the game outside of main gameplay, and the fact that they removed the link to the original developer's Twitter account.

Wave Wave and its real developer are what really made the game a masterpiece. Publishers like GameClub and Playond are really what ruin games.

If you're an indie developer looking for publishers, i recommend you check out Crescent Moon Games; that's where games like Daggerhood went after they got hurt from people like Playond and GameClub.

Not Playable

Hello, I came from this YouTuber who played this game, and I thought it would be a bit fun to play. I see many reviews about the game being subscription based. I thought the “subscription” was being able to like unlock new things and be able to play. I download the game, then it advertises the subscription. There is NO WAY to play the game without paying a subscription. It pops up, and there is no “I want to play this game, I don’t really want to subscribe” kind of button. NOPE, there is no button like that in sight. This is unplayable. I tried multiple ways to get AROUND the paywall. There isn’t a way. Try making the game PAY TO PLAY. Like, “In order to download, pay $1.99” it may be free, but there is a subscription, I do not recommend playing.

Edit: Thanks, developer for responding. I was able to get past the subscription pay wall. I still don’t get the fact that you only have 10 MINUTES to play the game when you just want to play the game and don’t want to subscribe. Just allow people to not to do the subscription, I just want to play the game, it’s fun. Stars aren’t changing at the moment.

Wave Wave is totally free to try with no need to sign up — email entry is 100% skippable. No subscription is necessary to try out the game (though full access is only for subscribers) — just press the "no thanks" options, and you'll be able to play the game to get a taste of it. If you're having trouble, we're happy to help at support@gameclub.io. We also offer a free trial (that you can cancel at any time) so you can play as many of the games in our library as much as you want before spending any money.

So sad to see another one go

I love games that follow the perfect pattern of Super Hexagon. I can tell a lot of inspiration came from there. But selling to Gameclub was a big mistake. The game is now hollow and subscription based. It’s disappointing to see another great game be taken away and moved to a subscription system. The reviews of this game are filled with Gameclub’s garbage PA copy/paste script. I wish I could rate this higher, but the game just isn’t worth $5 per month. And I know that Gameclub supplies “hUnDrEdS oF hOuRs Of CoNtEnT” but it’s just not worth it. This game was awesome. But it’s gone now. Lay it to rest and uninstall. Goodbye Wave Wave. You’ll be missed.

Ya don’t get this game

This could have easily been a fun free game with the use of advertisements but they decided to make you have to pay to play which is kind of annoying.

Response from developer

Wave Wave is part of a larger game subscription service called GameClub — all-you-can-play access to a large library of curated games (including Wave Wave), with hundreds of hours of gameplay within the subscription. Though full access is only included with a subscription, we're committed to letting everyone "try before you buy" — to play enough to get a sense of the game free of charge. We also offer a free trial (that you can cancel at any time) so you can play as many of the games in our library as much as you want before spending any money. Hope you take a look at our other titles to give them a try!

Addictive but pay wall ruins it

Exactly the title the paywall just ruins the game so I’d rather play super hexagon

Really?

Did you really had to make it a subscription like come on it used to be free what is wrong with you guys!

Response from developer

Everyone who bought this game prior to this update will continue to have full access to the game without starting a subscription. It sounds like this free upgrade benefit did not work for you — please write us at support@gameclub.io to get it straightened out.
