App not working.
Response from developer
Hi Kdlsarge, we are sorry for this inconvenience. Apple makes iOS changes from time to time that will cause an app to stop working. Have you tried to update the app from the app store? If that does not work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the app. When the app comes up, select the Already a Member option, enter your information and the app will recognize you. It only takes a minute. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Today’s new update

5/24/22 update - Hi hemorse, we're sorry to hear you are still having a problem with the app. There is an email address and phone number on the https://www.hero911.org/contact page. We are standing by and ready to help at that number to assist you. Please call that number and you will be redirected to someone that can assist. 3/10/22 - Hi hemorse, We're sorry you are not having a good experience with the Hero911 app. Can you please tell us where you are trying to log in? We don't require a login of any type for the app. We do ask for some identification to confirm you are an officer, but only when you first sign up. If you are already a member, there is no data or login needed from you. Rather than a "contact us" email, we have a phone number on our Contact page at https://www.hero911.org/contact that connects you directly to a police officer that can help you. Please call that number and an officer will assist you with your question about the badge number. We have another way we can vet your credentials if you don't have a badge number. The Hero911 Network is only open to officers and we have a strict vetting process we follow to ensure anyone that signs up is an actual officer. With regards to the alerts, we send instantaneous alerts from a property that is protected with our Guard911 service. Please see https://www.guard911.com for information about how it works. We do occasionally send out information only Situational Awareness Messaging System (NSAMS) alerts, which I believe you are referring to, but we only send these for what we consider a mass shooting. NSAMS alerts are sent to all Hero911 LEOs across the US to keep them informed of shootings that are taking place nationwide. It is part of our mission to keep the LEOs informed of these tragedies. We do only send them once we find out about them through our channels, which you are correct will be sent out later. You can see a list of those sent at https://www.hero911.org/nsams. These are only what we consider a mass shooting or threat, so we don’t overload our fellow officers’ phones with too much information. We hope this is helpful and you consider changing your rating so we can successfully complete our mission of saving innocent lives. Thank you.
Worthless compared to any news outlet
Response from developer
Hi Not buying again, We're sorry to hear you are not pleased with the Hero911 app. There seems to be a misunderstanding of how the app works. The Hero911 app works in conjunction with the Guard911 family of services (SchoolGuard, CampusGuard911, and Guard911). You can learn more about the service at www.guard911.com. If an emergency alert is set off from a property that is protected with the Guard911 services (schools, campuses, colleges, churches, hospitals, movie theaters, businesses, government facilities, etc.) every user of the Hero911 app that is NEARBY will receive an instantaneous alert about the emergency with details about the location. The app does not notify officers that are not near the facility. We are not trying to compete with social media and news outlets. Those outlets serve a different purpose and word already travels very fast in those channels. Our mission is to get as many local LEOs to the scene of the tragedy as quickly as possible to save lives. Our Nationwide Situational Awareness Messaging System (NSAMS) helps spread the word to all officers across the nation that carry the Hero911 app to keep them informed of shootings OUTSIDE of their own area. It is for informational purposes only. If you have any questions about how the service works, you can contact fellow LEOs at 618.876.9111 and ask to speak to an officer. It's hard for us to complete our mission to save lives and grow our LEO base with such a low review score. We hope you will consider changing your review, now that you have some additional details about how the app works. We hope that you will consider reinstalling the app in case there is ever a tragedy near you at a Guard911 protected property, to help us fulfill our mission of saving lives. Thank you.
Ditties on lack of info.
Fortunately I have not had to test the active shooter notification. With that said, I pray that it works more efficiently and the information portion of this app.
I hope someone at Hero 911 is listening! Thank you anyways for an excellent concept, and what I hope is the beginning stages of a great app.

Hi YnotBloom, Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like you are referring to our information only Situational Awareness Messaging System (NSAMS), which is sent to all Hero911 LEOs across the US to keep them informed of shootings that are taking place nationwide. It is part of our mission to keep the LEOs informed of these tragedies. When you receive the informational message, you should be redirected to https://hero911.org/nsams, which contains the information about the situation you are referring to. If you are not getting to this page, there may be a problem with the browser redirect on your device. Please contact our tech support at 618.876.9111 if you would like help with this issue. Our actual emergency alert, from a Guard911 protected property, that is sent only to nearby LEOs to notify them of an actual emergency, is nearly instantaneous and does not use a browser redirect. We do complete successful tests of our system every week, all across the US, and the emergency system performs exceptionally well. We hope you consider changing your rating based on this information.
