Journal News and Dayton Daily are reliable newspapers with apps that function well. I think both content and quality are very good. The apps were bumpy going a few years back, but all has been working smoothly this past year, and I am grateful. Please, don't change a thing. I am so frustrated with a number of other apps that keep "improving" with updates that only succeed in cluttering the experience with advertising, bias, and fluff that ruin both content and experience. No longer functions since version 14 update
It used to be a reliable app that I used daily to read our local newspaper. Not one aspect of the app functions anymore, and I have corresponded with JN DDN many times and uninstalled, reinstalled, jumped through hoops providing screen shots etc, everything they asked, and now, not only can I not read the newspaper, but all my settings, bookmarks, personalization is lost too. They don't seem very concerned either, suggesting that I should "just go online and read it at their website". I am a paid subscriber. What's more, the app used to work fine. It's been weeks since this began, and I am really bummed that I may have to cancel my subscription as the app was my only real option.Show less5 to 6 second swipe time on my iPad
There is a 5 to 6 second swipe time on my iPad. This has not always been the case. May be tied into the bottom ads loading but not sure if that is the whole story. This happened once before and was fixed, but the delay is back. This is a killer situation for me. Ads at bottom of digital page
The ads at the bottom of the screen on the digital version are maddening. They take too long to load. I like to be able to to scan through the pages and now I have to wait until the ads load in each page before I can do anything with the page. I don’t know how much longer I will put up with those before I cancel my subscription. It’s maddening.Show lessSackjf

Obvious liberal bias. Not as bad as in the past but very little respect for the office of the United States president.

Pretty tedious creating an account and getting signed in, but once you figure that out, it's a good app. Looks just like the print version, easy to read section by section, page by page.Tally46
Current version does not appear to work
I downloaded this app to check out the features of the online paper, but it only loads one page correctly. Once an attempt is made to switch to page 2 of the current paper it will flip a SafeFrame container up which will not go away. This makes the app useless in its current form as you cannot progress to a second page or beyond. This behavior was exactly the same across 3 different IOS devices and no reinstall fixed the problem.Show lessphase888
