This game fixes a few issues that existed in the previous installment of the series. The most glaring is the including of level specific challenges. Although this sounds appealing, it was very difficult to complete all of them, as specific weapons and items were required in order to do so. Now the challenges have been simplified and they tell you exactly what to do and are not level specific.
Other than that, weapon upgrades, a wide assortment of guns, reasons to upgrade each item, painting each weapon, unlockable items, collectables, revival hearts, and multiple levels and characters all return in addition to the ability to create your own characters to destroy.
However, the problem that is now introduced is items that do not load right ever. There are multiple of these such as the dessert and shovel. I wish I could overlook this, but it severely cripples the experience to the extent that I really have to take a star off. Otherwise the game is very polished and there is a lot of replay value attempting to unlock all the crazy weapons.
