What an awful experience!
Seldom have I been so frustrated as I was after trying to access my digital subscription to Family Tree Magazine. I tried both the iPhone and iPad and after much wasted time and rigamarole was able to look at some content on my iPad, but couldnโt leave without actually quitting the app. I was then unable to log in or access support. The form-generated request for support was actually rejected as an invalid address. I tried to call the 800 number listed on the website only to be given a different number to call. I have canceled my subscription and deleted the app, and I recommend that anyone serious about genealogy look elsewhere.

Hello lagomcurt - I'm sorry you had a horrible experience. We purchased Family Tree Magazine from it's former owner F&W Media - who went bankrupt. The app had a major overhaul in fall of 2019. The new contact process for help is improved as well. The message goes directly to the app developer.
Disappointed; I want a refund!
I purchased a yearโs subscription with access online, as well. Even though Iโve logged in on the app, Iโm continually getting a message that I need to subscribe. What kind of sham is this?
App still not working after bug fixes
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! This would have been a wonderful app if it works. First, on your website, after login, I only see the 2018 digital subscription. All the other previous digital subscriptions are not listed. Second, I had to renew my password on the website. After following your email directions ... Third, the app doesnโt recognize the new password; after giving it a day to catch up on the new password Fourth, in the โissueโ section of the app my digital subscriptions are there but I have to pay for them.
PLEASE DO ANOTHER UPDATE ON YOUR BUG FIXES!! Maybe then I can give you 5*.

The app will not recognize my iTunes subscription. I cannot download the issues I already paid for. There is no customer service for the iOS app. Do not subscribe to this. A waste of money.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
I spent 21.99 for a subscription and have only been able to access one issue. Apple iTunes won't answer my contacts and Family Tree Magazine tells me that it is not their problem. What a racket! And...this stupid form won't let me send without at least one star but my rating is ZERO!
Update to : App isn't working.
Oct 21. Hurray! Thank you for an app that is finally working correctly. It took a while, but the app is now what I expected and I am able to download the issues on my subscription. Family Tree Magazine is an excellent genealogy resource and I am thrilled to now access it on my iPad.

I called family Tree support today and was told the app is NOT compatible with iPad. I can purchase individual issues and view them on my iPad so it seems reasonable to assume I could see the magazines purchased with the subscription too. Could someone at F + W please address this issue?

I purchased family tree magazine in August. I was able to view it just fine through the Family Tree Magazine through the ipad. But when the month changed, it said I needed to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription. I purchased the yearly subscription, but have been unable to access the magazine, and even now, I can't go back to the past issue I purchased to read it. When I bought the yearly purchase, something went wrong with the closing of the sale, and it said my membership would start with the next update of family tree. Well, I waited several weeks, the update came along, but everything stays the same. I really would like to be able to read the magazines and profit from the learning in there. I also would like to be able to read the back magazines that I have already purchased. Surely this isn't too hard to put together. Please get back to me quickly on what can be done to solve this problem. I paid good money for a project I am unable to take advantage of. I love the format of the magazine, just not being able to get to it. Thanks for any help.

App not working
Same problem as MDRM. Subscription will not download. Charged for sub on 8/4/2014. Have sent several emails to App Store in past 10 days, but no responses.
