Just a great way to open up one's way of seeing

This app, I have recommended to several folks at the recent MOTION 2014 conference in Albuquerque, NM. I can not rave about this app enough! Got folks at design studios to download it, got photogs to get it, it is stunning! Passed it on to folks in the film biz. Just get it!

Great

Does what it says, a great addition to my mobile photo arsenal. Clean and simple, bravo.

outstanding

right now this is one of my most favorite and most used camera apps

i agree with other reviewers, you need to have an understanding of light, and of the app itself, to get the most out of it

as for resolution, yes, it now supports higher resolution, but in my experience output resolution seems to vary depending on image content. if your image is a single black line, it'll come in at well under 1mb, whereas if your image is more complex and detailed the output size will show a corresponding increase. anyone else experience this? just curious, i've proven it to myself already with a couple of quick tests

developers -- love it, but would really, really appreciate consistent high resolution output, tiff output, and most of all, the ability to touch the screen to set focus on a specific area (i've figured out my own work-around, but with an app that appears to be intended for use by people other than those just out shooting snapshots, using the screen as a shutter IMHO and with all due respect seems not quite ideal)

bottom line, learn it, and love it. it's a great b/w app

UPDATE -- i contacted john hornbeck and received a fast and very kind response from him. great guy. so, 1) the touch screen shutter is by design to suit his (and now that he pointed it out to me, my) shooting needs, and it will not change. basically, it's for fast, on the go shooting with no fumbling around to hit a single button while you
miss the shot. 2) as i suspected, file size output is relative to the amount of detail in the image, so, less detail, smaller file size. 3) they want to incorporate uncompressed image output with the release of iOS 8. he was really nice, and everything he said made perfect sense.

so, i love this app. it may be niche, but it's a keeper, and i highly, highly recommend it.

Looks cool but...

I like how the image is in camera but after I hear the shutter I don't know where my photo gets saved to.

Crap

App don't even open

Wonderful app

Love the high contrast look- really unique. The app was updated to allow full resolution.

No Full Res

Does not save in full resolution. Deleted.

Excellent!

After downloading and experimenting with the app for a few days I had a chance to use it on a recent trip to the beach. In a word, fantastic! I wouldn't say that this app is for "beginners" because in order to get the most out of it, at minimum a basic understanding of light and shadow (and how both the app and the iPhone camera in general) will interact with both. Really, Contrast is best for experienced iPhoneographers looking to achieve a specific effect. I wouldn't bother if you're just looking for a new way to take selfies, or for a new filter of the month, etc. My only requests would be for different aspect ratios and possibly for the ability to output photos in uncompressed TIFF format. Otherwise, great job. It's not for everyone. But that's what gives it the freedom to be great.

Great!!

Overall great app!

I'm loving these photos!

I love the UI and I really love the deeply contrasted pics I get with this app!! And I like the option to touch the screen anywhere to snap a photo but the focus on this app is just not that great...I'd much rather be able to touch the screen to set the focus! This would help in creating better, crisper photos. Other then that I wouldn't change a thing. I really do love the app...I've been experimenting different areas and lighting shots and love the effect! THANK YOU FOR RAISING THE RESOLUTION!!!
