Price History of Qix Galaxy

Description of Qix Galaxy

Qix Galaxy is a Sci-fi Space Adventure arcade game based on the classic QIX game by TAITO. Captain Gordon finds himself on the super-modern research spaceship NGC-123 in a galaxy far, far away. He is on a mission with very peaceful goals: mapping the galaxy, looking for Dark Matter. Unfortunately he finds much more than he was looking for...an unknown plasma force that's not only a threat to his ship but to the planets in the galaxy as well. Nevertheless he continues his mission of mapping the galaxy while avoiding the plasma forces flowing through each planetary system. In doing so, he notices the plasma avoids the regions he's mapped. Something about his propulsion system is immune to these energy forces, these so-called "QIX", and drives them away. But the QIX are draining the energy of inhabited planets, who send SOS signals as a last desperate act before time runs out. With no one else in this remote galaxy, Captain Gordon is their last and only hope. But what can one research scientist and his AI companion Aida do against those overwhelming odds? Can you save the planets in time? Can you solve the mystery of the QIX? Can you save the galaxy? Key features: - Unlock the Space Opera story as you progress - Casual yet challenging gameplay with swipe-to-move control - 60 challenging levels and numerous missions - Dozens of sci-fi references for fans of classic sci-fi - Discover new worlds and new civilizations...er, planets - Play with your friends and compete for top scores

Reviews of Qix Galaxy

  • Good concept but...

    Please fix the following:
    1) In-app purchases should get rid of ads.
    2) Give us the option of listening to the 1991 NES Qix soundtrack!!!!
  • Qix (kiks) has returned

It has been a very long time since I've played this game. Qix (kiks) is one of those puzzles that will keep you playing for hours. I remember the NES version of the game that came out in 1993, and played it. If you like Qix (kiks) then I would highly recommend it.
  • Future Qix in Space

Clever story variant on the Qix gameplay concept where the primary goal is to isolate/capture the planet instead of capturing a majority of the playfield. But capturing most of the screen and killing all on screen enemies is required to earn stars to unlock additional levels. Thus the game challenges you to earn coins to upgrade your ship (no longer a cursor as in the original) to outmaneuver turrets & fireballs and plasma. The QIX itself is, unfortunately, relegated to boss status only. Performing well ok levels earns stars to unlock sanctioned sections of the map. Once you get the hang of it, the gameplay can get addictive and fun... then it all comes to an end.

The in-game characters and story add little to the gameplay, especially the ending. But the puzzle challenge of several of the levels is worth your time, if you're a fan of this Taito arcade classic.
