Does the job
Once you have the corresponding Notes app installed on your Owncloud server, this app connects quickly and acts as a drop-in replacement for the Notes app in iOS. There's also a Cloudnotes app for Mac from the same developer. Cloudnotes isn't as pretty as Apple's own Notes app, but the .txt files it creates are all yours and stored in a Notes folder on your server.

It's ok for an app that supports an already basic note taking app (ownCloud notes). It's pretty buggy though and lacks any additional tools to make it worth spending money on. For example, having - above the keyboard would help when making lists. The list are pretty buggy as sometimes it will just delete the last couple items for no real reason.
