Description of Quick Type AAC

At Digital Scribbler, we believe in using technology to overcome human limits. Quick Type AAC is our newest product developed to equip those who are non-verbal to speak. Simply type what you want to say, and your device will speak for you. We designed Quick Type as an affordable, easy-to-use alternative to many of the typical Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) apps and devices currently available. It has been designed for those who with cerebral palsy, apraxia, down syndrome, autism, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) and any other condition which causes an individual to be low or non-verbal. We have included an intelligent word prediction that learns the words and phrases that you use the most to make it even quicker to speak. The more you use it the better it gets at predicting what you want to say! You can also delete a word prediction by simply holding the word - a feature not available in other AAC apps. We have included 50 high-quality voices in 24 languages for you to choose from. You can also choose to speak automatically after typing a word or sentence, if you wish. You can also share your current speech or an entire conversation via email, Facebook, or Twitter which allows you to save important conversations or share them with friends and family. As a bonus you have quick access to Yes and No buttons to allow quick responses to simple questions! We hope you enjoy using Quick Type and believe it will make a difference in people’s lives! We take all of our customers feedback seriously, so please email us with any suggestions about how we can further improve our products. Icons from icons8 About Digital Scribbler, Inc Founded by Russ Ewell, Digital Scribbler is a technology company, whose "built in the garage" origin story typifies Silicon Valley. This garage is now more mentality than place. It is a mindset which says, "If we can dream it, we can build it." We dreamed of creating an affordable communication app, which was capable of giving the verbally challenged a voice. It needed to be mobile, simple, and flexible. Quick Type AAC is the second app to come from this dream, and it has been helping those in silence speak ever since.

  • This app wouldn’t speak from my iPad

I bought this at the recommendation of a speech therapist and found that I couldn’t get it to talk from my IPad. I checked my settings and they were fine. I had to purchase another app that did work with my iPad (without any changes to my settings).
