I found the non word decoding very challenging. My son struggles to read and I had him take the assessment also to compare. I feel it truly rested his ability to decode vs just test his knowledge of sight words. I’ve read that it is very important in helping dyslexics improve their fluency.Lilian claire

No real words
I am a Professor of Reading, and I reviewed this instrument carefully. The tasks are rooted in a highly behaviorist, rather than a meaning centered view of learning. In other words, reading successfully is limited to decoding. Someone must have worked hard to come up with so many nonsense words. There are errors,too, where a combination could be pronounced more than one way.Show lesswendyc921
