  • We use it on every hike

The Oregon Wildflowers app has been both educational and a lot of fun. We use it on every hike here in Oregon. The results from filtering are almost always on target, sometimes even without flowers! We use the helpful photos and range map (where the species has been recorded) to confirm tentative IDs. Plus the app supports the fabulous Oregon Flora Project. (BTW, I'm a professional botanist, like another reviewer, but I think this app is a gem.)

  • Advanced ID capability

My favorite thing about apps like this is the use of multi trait databases instead of the old binary keys. Much more success at identifying flowers. Also excellent photos.
  • Another super High Country

Have been using High Country flower apps for some time and when Oregon came out, I had to grab it. I used to live in the Portland area, but now I’m a hop skip and a jump from Eastern Oregon which has very, very different flora. Easy to have with me if I’m just out and about and spot something interesting. Don’t have to try to remember what it looked like until I get home and grab a guide book.

  • Best flower identifier

Lots of good pictures at different angles, easy to narrow searches by region, flower family, color, petal type, leaf type, and more!
  • Not worth the money.

Disappointed in this app. I was very pleased with High Country Apps Greater Yellowstone Flora app which contained much more information on each species including illustrations and better descriptions. I expected a similar product which this was not.
  • Worthless app

As a professional botanist, this app looked interesting. I thought of a flower, typed in characteristics and reviewed app suggested plants. Not even close. Then I typed in a genus and no plants came up. I don't even think this app. would be of any use to a rookie, or budding botanist or nature lover. A good idea for sure, but truly trash! Save your dollars for the purchase of the flora of Oregon, Oregon Flora Project.

  • Oregon Wildflowers

What a great app. I take it in the fields of my farm, on walks through town and just peruse it in the evening at home. I know public dollars were used to develop this app. Thanks OSU Extension! This is a great use of my tax dollars.
  • Best flower identification app ever!

Every Oregonian who enjoys wildflowers should get this app. You can Id flowers by characteristics, create a lifetime list, and more. It's resident on your phone so you don't need wireless signal to use it. And this is science, folks, not some funky free thing that is worth what you paid for it (0).
  • Best App for Plant ID in Oregon

I love this app and reference it all the time. No need for cell phone service which is great while out in the field and the range maps are fantastic. Highly recommended!!
  • Missing tidbits

Doesn't tell you anything except the name and description. I want to know more than just a name (the partner app of Colorado flowers includes this in a "tidbits" section). You could easily get this information in a small pamphlet.
