3.5.2

June 24, 2018

- Updated 1:250,000 map - May 2018 - 1:50,000 maps updated to May 2018. To update, delete the maps, then re-download it. - iPhone X support - Fixed a problem where GPX file exports couldn't be loaded in some other software - Timestamps are now shown in local time rather than UTC - List of tracks now shows the track time duration - Waypoints list shows time the waypoint was created - Can zoom in more (note zooming beyond the map scale doesn't get more detail, just makes it bigger) - Updated 1:50,000 legend - More accurate estimate of required free space to install new maps (iOS 11 only) - Waypoint ID's can have any characters in them now. But best stick to just letters and numbers as not all GPS can cope with Unicode characters in names - Can now restore map-follows-your-location mode when the GPS is running without turning the GPS off/on. If you drag the map while the GPS is running the map stops following your location and the GPS button turns brown. To restore map-follows mode, press an hold the GPS button for a couple of seconds. The maps will start following your location again and GPS button will turn red. - Bug fixes

  • Can’t load my purchases

Downloaded and paid for north and South Island maps. They show up in the get more maps page as downloaded, However when I go select map in settings; they aren’t there?
  • Excellent navigation tool.

This a great system which I use all the time when I’m in the backcountry. I’ve had it on my iPhone for several years. Great tracking tool, which has helped me several times when being caught by low cloud when hunting thar and chamy. It also works well in the bush.
  • Purchase Required

While I certainly don’t expect everything to be free, if you want to download a map at any useful resolution then you’ll have to pay. Only thing it really lets you do without paying is pin your position. There are great apps out there that are actually much less expensive (and don’t try to tell you they are “free”).

    Developer Response

Sorry we can't meet your expectation that everything should be free - apps don't build themselves. The app is a free download that includes a 1:250,000 map of New Zealand. Other maps are in-app purchases. All the app's features are available without paying anything.
