Good builder with room to grow
Fundamentally, 1849 is a city builder with economic overtones. It compares favorably to PC classics like Pharaoh and the Caesar series, upon which it is heavily based. Artwork is variable -- landscapes and people are somewhat cartoonish and lack detail, but buildings are highly detailed artworks. The game itself is, as a city builder, highly enjoyable. The only lacking part is in its economics model; it is impossible to sell everything you can produce, meaning that, eventually, you're destined to become either a ghost town or one that's well past its glory days. (Bit of a history lesson in there.) Overall, a good game...probably not worth the $4 or $5 I paid, but well worth two to three...and well worth your time.

If you like city sims, this is the game for you! Awesome game, and a full game, now of this cash cow rubbish full of IAP's- only AIP is an expansion- which was well worth it. Support this game! Proper game designers need recognition rather than the devs who keep cloning Clash! Devs- keep up the great work, would love other eras- Rome etc

White screen and nothing more
Just bought this while it was on sale. Bargain I thought! Alas won't get past the White loading screen before crashing. Sure it's a good game if it ever worked.
Fish cannery doesn't produce canned fish :(

One issue - the fish cannery appears to produce canned meat instead of canned fish. When playing, can't sell/trade canned fish because it can't be produced.

Good fun
1849 is a fun sim building combined with time management game. Set in the Old West, building resources to feed and clothe your workers while striking for profit! A fair challenge in strategy.
High quality game
The App Store needs more games like this and fewer like Clash of Clans, etc. Really good quality game.

A good game and very addictive however, for a £2.99 game it was disappointingly very easy to complete quite quickly and an additional cost is required for more levels- not great gaming value for money.
