Loud, painfully bright
This game is so loud and if you don’t turn the sound off before you begin to play, you can’t.
It also has flashing lights which is awful. I get migraines, I don’t need that kind of trigger on my phone. It also POORLY replicates chiptunes and what it THINKS is an 80s vibe but gets it all horribly wrong. Deleted.Show lessA “Hidden Gem”
This game doesn’t get enough love. It has been on my phone for years and still just as addictive today, as it was when I first downloaded it. I haven’t even gotten around to trying the newer version because this one still has me so hooked. Try it- you won’t be sorry.Would have looked amazing as a cocktail table game in an 80s video game arcade
It's the combination of glowing, almost CRT style graphics and the synthesizer sounds when eliminating blocks that give this game a true 80s feel and also a bit of a magical touch. On iPad 2, I found that I can leave the game and return to it later without the game grid being reset so it's possible to play one big game in short stints to test yourself against your last highest score. As others have said, an excellent way to while away boredom stuck in traffic on the train or bus! I looked at GlowGrid2 also and definitely think that the original one is the better of the two. I can just imagine if this had really been around in the 1980s it would have worked really well on a cocktail table style console.Show less
