On the app we were given a fair price of about 500 com. The driver took almost two hours to arrive, which was almost understandable as we were a little outside the city, however on the way he called and said the toll to get into Ala Archa national park was 700 com. We were a little dismayed at this but it was fair enough for us to pay this. When he arrived we got into the car and about five minutes in he asked if he could pick up a couple of extra passengers to lower our price. We agreed and so they got into the car, at which point the driver told them that the price to the tollbooth was 500 com, which we assumed would lower our price of 1200 com at least 150. However, when we got to the tollbooth, he let the passengers out after they only paid him 200, which we already though was somewhat dodgy. As we left the National Park, the driver picked up another passenger, and it was during this leg of the trip that this gentleman decided to start raising our price. At first he told us we would have to pay 1000 com each (there were two of us) as well as the 700 com toll. We were completely aghast at this and we started asking him why he’d raised our price so much, at which point he started making excuses about travelling out of town and paying for gas, which on apps such as Yandex is included in the fee. He eventually lowered our price after we told him we didn’t have enough cash, at which point he started making sly remarks, trying to manipulate and gaslight us at which point we gave in and decided to pay him 2200 com, almost double the original price we’d agreed on, which should have been lowered anyway because of the carpooling. Either this app has some very questionable hidden fees, or our driver decided he could scam the two of us as we are not natives. In short, this app is a complete farce which preys on non natives and I’m surprised he didn’t charge us an extra 1000 for him turning on the heating.
