More Crapp Than App.

Don’t Waste Your Time On This.

Terrible app

Badly written, buggy, crashes, won’t load labels, just go with Dymo or Brother!

Looks good, connecting has been a nightmare.

Having purchased a Leitz Icon Labeller to replace a Dymo Labeller because it offered WiFi connection, it has always been a total nightmare to connect wirelessly, which it resolutely would not do, requiring Leitz remote access support to achieve. Following a computer glitch, it took Leitz remote support yet again to get the labeller to reconnect wirelessly. Then, after a year all but one day, it spat 2 metres of labels whilst unattended and fried itself. All credit to Leitz warranty, as a replacement was eventually received, but yet again it is proving infuriatingly impossible to connect wirelessly without Leitz remote support that has been arranged once again. Plug and Play it certainly is not. The only criticism other than it being a complete nightmare to connect, is the print quality is only just acceptable using "bold" as otherwise it’s far too faint. It is however a handsome object.

Wi-fi setting

Just spent about 2.5 hrs trying to get the wi-fi set up, works ok on USB cable still trying the wi-fi set.

The Strange Phenomena

Best not to buy this printer, why? The software doesn’t work,
Customer service is non existent, and the equipment poorly manufactured.
Zero rating all round.
Get a system with a proven track record ie Brother comes to mind, but I’m sure there are others that you can get that will work.
If this company sold lager it would be the worst lager in the world.
Had to give a one star rating to publish this post, sad.

Update

Can no longer connect to printer since update. Fortunately, I have not yet updated the app on my iPad, so can still use.

Crap

For the last 6 months I haven't been able to print from my iPhone 6 version 10... I could with my iPad (idk what version) super annoying. All it tells me is after I connect to the printer that there is no internet.... I give up.

Buggy

Although it looks easy in the video tutorials, editing an existing, saved label is not! Surely iOS provides something that would make it as simple as editing in other iOS apps?

I enter a name in bold, do two returns to add another line, tap on Bold to get back to normal type and the cursor flies back to the start of the first (bold) line. Why?

Otherwise it's a neat app but editing needs fixing.

Handy app for mobile devices but problems with custom images

The app works well on my iPad for printing labels when not on my desktop. One major limitation is adding images via the camera roll. When adding a logo via the camera roll, the image is cropped on the right side. I have tried everything to fix this, without luck. I know the image file is fine because when using the desktop version of this software on my iMac the same logo image is added correctly. Hope a future update will fix this. Although the app works well, printing labels with my company's logo on them is one of the reasons I bought the ICON printer, so two stars deducted for having to create labels on my iMac and transfer them to the iPad via the Dropbox link.

AirPrint support not so good

The app is not too user friendly. Making a custom label is harder than it should be. Inserting a picture how you want is difficult. The printer can handle two different resolutions but can't find a way to change that in this app. The desktop app lets you change the resolution but I didn't see a huge difference. I love using AirPrint but it doesn't work well with the printer. Just printing text comes out fine but images come out horrible. I tried printing a simple picture and all I get is a grayish square with lines everywhere. A QR code image was unusable. The only way I was able to get great labels was connecting the printer to my Mac over USB. Wifi also didn't work well. From my Mac computer and using USB everything printed out fine and with very good detail. Pictures came out good and a custom QR code looked great and was usable. So the main advertised "AirPrint" feature is a no go. The box says it's made for AirPrint and Apple devices. Not so much for me. The iOS app is good for text and solid cliparts but nothing more. To get nice and more detailed prints I have to plug it into my computer which defeats the purpose of portability 😣 Maybe the firmware on my printer didn't update properly? Tech support didn't help me out any. Was told that's how AirPrint works with thermal printers πŸ˜•
