  • Needs Updating

Generally ok, although the archive needs improving, a search function to access older content would be good. Overnights tab excludes +1 and in some cases HD in the numbers, a simple update could surely rectify that. You have to close the app down and re-open it to leave the digital edition of the magazine, a ‘back’ button here would be very useful.

  • Clunky and slow...

This publication is a key read for anyone in the media in the UK. Not sure how one of our leading media publications can be letting itself down so badly. The app is not smooth or sleek. The landing page seems designed all-by-guess. But the major fail here is the repeated crashing of the app when you try to navigate about. Downloading the next issue is really not easy. Even when you’ve learned where to look for that choice the app crashes, kicks you out and then won’t reboot cleanly. If you can begin the download for reading offline it’s excruciatingly slow. How are we supposed to read our VERY expensive trade subscription in digital form? The worst journal/publication app I’ve used by far. The app absolutely does not have its finger on the pulse of new media, that’s for sure! Take a look at The Hollywood Reporter App guys, that one works like a dream.
